maybe offer the laser etching at a fixed price whereas the laster etched versions are donated to St. Judes, or at least part of the sales....? Who purchased numbers 1,2 and 3,4--or is a unanamous purchase. Big Dan couldn't help himself and bought 1 and 2 (paid full price, just like everyone else - money going to St. Jude). As for the other buyers, they may or may not chose to show up and announce themselves. We won't disclose that info. At this point, we only have two left... That's awesome Dann, you not only talk the talk, you walk the walk....are they set up at your house yet?

My mistake, didn't notice that Dan was with one N.....but still sweet nonetheless....he buys his own product to support his favorite charity...nothing wrong with that....

I'd love to get my hands on a couple of these, but the home improvement projects are much higher on the list. Besides I'd probably have to upgrade all the electrical lines in the house just to handle them. ;D

Hey Dann,
I am about to order 2 XPA-1s. I thought I read somewhere that I can get a matched set. That right?

Hey Dann, I am about to order 2 XPA-1s. I thought I read somewhere that I can get a matched set. That right? Matched in what way? The LEs will be sequentially numbered and Lonnie will be testing the Limited Edition units and make sure that the gain structures match. You can listen to the 2nd part of the 11/10 Webcast for more information on this. I think there are only like 2 of these Limited Edition model left. The other Doug

The Limited Editions are sold in sets...001 and 002, 003 and 004.
The standard XPA-1's are not numbered that way. They have randomized serial numbers that are not meant to match up, using code that goes way beyond 10,11, etc,

This is what I was talking about. I realize this should make very little difference but hey if I could get it why not.

so in the future if i decide to get 2 more,..what will the serial numbers be......usually they do match up numcerically,..like 000123-000124 or 222 and 223 going up as more are bought. i know its like this for speakers. the amps are just random then....? 27736 and 99121 or 5342 and 9911.

now the hard part is finding speakers that sound good with the amps. i have several brands lined up, but have to audition alot before i decide to buy. Im bringing my QSC PL340 as a reference amp w/ me to ALL audio stores and chain stores----will be fun to watch the kids melt the speakers instore w/ my amp. its only like 3 inches high and weighs 22 lbs, but will belt out 1250 watts into 4 ohm--w/ mimimal thd. so this will be a fun new year fir sure. "its only a 250 watt amp dude..turn it up, lets see what these spakers sound like" I hope I see smoke......

Well...remember power isn't everything. Definitely expect a large SQ improvement with the XPA-1's lol.

i disagree,..power IS everything. somewhat...your right. I have an older technics receiver, its class A output 100%- it was the first try at a pure class A output for home receivers, its from 1984 I think,, its the SA-350 TV/FM/AM reveiver w/ a kick ass phono section. I have an older 125 rms ONkyo TX-890(top o the line in 87 i think. and the little 40 watt class A technics sounds so warm and clean its sick, granted not as loud,...but just as close and the sound is AMAZING!!! this thing gets very hot after only 5 minutes to,...love thge clasds A stuff. my Fathers old receiver ( one of many ) still in absolutely newe looking cond, I plan to keep it that way as well. maybe give it to my kids as their first stereo. after they get 16 of course. as a good tongue lashing,..if you damage this, ill damage my hand on your *bleep*.

all i have to hook up to the xpa-1's are 2 older RCA speakers w/ a 12" woofer, lil 3 inch mid and a small dome tweet. ill keep the volume low, as to not damage these old warhorses. ill replace the drivers with the nice Aurum Cantus drivers at parts express next summer. maybe a nice dayton midrange and a vifa tweeter. i hope the crossovers are ready for some juice when i do this. only rated at 100 watts
