Well swapping in drivers with the old crossover isn't going to give you very good results.

there goes another 300 on crossovers. im better off just buying new t hen......most likely the energy rc-70 @ 250watts handling, would be great for a nice dungeon pair in my audio room. have either the polk rti A9 or axiom m-80's as my mains. havent decided yet..

Yeah if your going to swap out drivers you might as well just do a real DIY design with new crossovers and everything.

ill just get the 3 way crossover from parts express, and the drivers & some damnping material and fix em up right...?? will this pre-arranges setup work, as i have no idea how to build a crossover,......i drive bulldozers & back-hoes, not mingle w/ little electronics,...ide get angry and throw em out.

Plus you have to consider cabinet construction and design for the type of drivers you intend on putting into this old box. In my opinion, I'm with dougie when he says it's better to do an entirely new DIY build.

It would work, sure, if by work you mean noise would come out. But it probably wouldn't sound right. Crossovers are the heart of any speaker system, and using one made for specific drivers, or a prefab made from textbook values, will likely not sound right with different drivers. If all you want to do is experiment and see what happens, sure go for it you might get lucky. If you want a system that sounds good, you will need to design and build the proper crossover for the specific system you are building.

If you are unwilling to mess with "little electronics," buy something already designed and assembled, like one of the Emotiva systems.

how many companies will go the distance like t his, i was sorta goofing about the picture of Mrs Thomas, but......cmon, if you would try to get this for me,...............damn this is a fine company, even suggestions from the message boards are taken into consideration for improvements and many are used in the components,........how cool is that! its not every day ANY company will actually want or try to do ANYTHING for its customers. yeah......yeah,...call me an asskisser about this post, but where have any of you noticed friendliness like this ......i have NOT with any company except maybe Crown,.....and they didnt try to get me a signed picture of john cougar,.so Emotiva is commended once again for their loyal and generous customer servioce and going the EXTRA MILE for the happiness of their customers......im impressed more every week at the lengths thhe company will go to for their customers. really wierd......but I cound not ask for more from you guys,....just outstanding!!! Thank you
