First thing first is finding a standing equipment rack to put the XPR series in. Right now, I've got a VTI modular rack that is upgraded for 5 shelves. Two of the bottom shelves fit a pair of XPA-1s but won't fit the XPR series. www.wayfair.com/VTI-BL-Series-Modular-Rack-BL304-VI1005.htmlI'd like to find a new equipment rack to fit at least two of the XPR series. Budget : $500.00 to $1000.00 Any suggestions? If you can't find one ready-made, for $1000 or less you may be able to get someone to build you a nice hardwood cabinet for a higher WAF...

Thanks.-- I got as buddy that owns a cabinet shop. I may go that route. Natural cherry and finish myself. Right now, I've got a 72" TV stand, Horizon model in natural cherry hardwood from Standout Designs. Bought that like 4 years ago when they offered cherry wood. (60" plasma) Standout Designs highly recommended! Quality! www.standoutdesigns.com/collections/horizon-solid-wood-tv-consoles-media-stands

Hi Dan, for a pure stereo setup with XSP1 running full balanced, wud I get better sq with the XPA1s or XPR1s? I think it was stated by Dan or Lonnie (sorry Dan, I always mix up what you say with Lonnie!) a while back that the XPA-1 is always going to be the SQ leader...... But my guess is the XPR-1 will probably sound just as good! ah thanks for reminding me of this... I'm a believer of "not all watts are created equal" so was hoping that there will be a new 500W monoblock flagship... maybe, only maybe the XPA-1L will be new SQ leader when its out, but its not rare for my XPA1s' led to go pass the halfway mark... looks like I will be "stuck" with the XPA1s for a long time. I'm not exactly complaining though... as the mark of a great equipment is how long it stays as the flagship.

I have no doubt that the XPA-1L will be a big seller when it comes out. I'm sure the 30W in class A will be a big selling point for a lot of people. I'm not sure that I can tell the difference between class A and class A/B - I've never had a chance to do a blind comparison. I imagine the key specs (distortion, etc) of the XPA-1 and XPR-1/2 will be very close - and that's why I'm not sure that the XPA/XPR-1 will be that different by ear --- even if the XPA-1 has a more "traditional" design. I'm sure there is a market that wants more power than the XPA1/2 can deliver (even if only for the bragging rights) I need to figure out what speakers I want for 2 channel before I buy some amplification - my focus has been all home theater so far. I should probably finish the Statement speakers that I started.

Jim, with 2 channel u will over time be less concerned about specs.. that's where the headache will come from because u can no longer compare specs & bench tests reports cos most of those numbers wont matter to u anymore

I guess I need to spend more time @ Emotiva/EmoFest to hear more gear.
