Hi Guys, I am using 3 out of 5 channels on my amp for center and surrounds, I was going to use the remainder 2 ch for running a couple of passive subs I have, If I feed a mono out signal from the pre. then into a splitter then into the 2 channels on the XPA-5 I get a channel warning led come up and the amp does not turn on, remove the splitter and leads from those channels and eveything is fine..................does any one know why this is happening.

Yes, you are overdriving the amp.

Wouldn't that be the same as connecting the two hot sides of the amps together? What if you just connect to one side or the other but not both?

Eveny thing works fine...........Doesnt seem to like being used with a splitter Must have something to do with connecting the hot sides of those two channels together via the splitter.

I'm thinking the inputs don't like their grounds connected.

Oh wait, maybe you just need a more expensive splitter.
