Hello members. Just joined. I am currently running the following: Denon AVR-3801 Receiver (6.1, 105wpc) B&W DM605 S2 Mains B&W DM602 S2 Surrounds B&W DM601 S2 Rear Surrounds B&W CC6 S2 Center. B&W ASW 1000 Sub I am considering upgrading from the Denon and am leaning toward the following: UMC-200 pre/pro UPA-700 Amp Possibly an Oppo BDP-103
Any thoughts? Any comments on Emo sound, reliability, service? Anybody running similar setup?

Just read a comment about another pre/pro bass management not allowing full range to the mains if a sub is selected. Since my 605's have powered subs built in, I would like to have full range going to them. Anyone know if the UMC-200 will allow sub output and still send full range to the mains?

Welcome. Those are good choices for sure and that amp will certainly run your system, I would say choosing amps that have a bit more power might increase your dynamics a bit which is alway nice. I think there will be "a lot" of improvement SQ wise from the Denon - that piece is rather dated for audio codecs so its a good move IMHO. Changing gear is alway fun.......

That sounds like a good set of gear, the amp should works well unless you have a huge room.

Stoney,
The more information you can give us the more focused our responses will be. It would be very helpful to know the dimensions of your listening room, whether the floor plan is open or closed, the number, size and relative placement of all door and windows, the genre of music and movies you like, and your watching and listening habits. Do you like to "feel" the bass response of action movies hit you in the chest? Do you listen to music at reference level?
If you have a relatively small listening/viewing room the UPA-700 amp should be fine, but if you have a large room and/or like your sound at reference level you will likely need amps capable of delivering more power.
Emotiva has built its reputation on delivery gear that is built like a tank and has some of the best sounding components money can buy. Emotiva's known for their Customer Service and Tech Support. Their gear is exceptionally reliable, but if you ever do need service they typically repair and test the repaired gear within 24 to 48 hours. The two times I have sent product in for service, I shipped the item via Fed Ex on a Monday and got it back from Emotiva on Thursday. I live about 500 miles from Emotiva, so that should give you a good feel for how prompt they are in fixing product sent in for service.
I have been in this hobby for 48 years now and Emotiva has the best Customer Service and Tech Support that I have ever been exposed to. Emotiva will bend over backwards to make their customers happy with their purchase. People initially buy Emotiva gear because it has a huge "Bang for the Buck" pricing; and people continue to buy Emotiva products because of the great support from Emotiva.

I would advice a bigger amp if you can for the fronts and if you need to wait on a surround amp, let your reciever handle the surrounds. The fronts are where the action is usually... For instance you can get an xpa-3, and much later when your budget allows a UPA-500 for the surrounds.

His L/R speakers do have powered subs buit in so I'm not sure how much more power he really needs

My listening area is 10.5 ft x 17.5 ft. It is in the corner of a 14 x 22.5 ft room. The mains are 3.5 ft out from the front wall, my seat is 8 ft back from the mains, the surrounds are 4 ' out directly to the sides and the rear surrounds are 4' behind. I currently listen to most things at -24db with the Denon and only occasionally crank it above -10 (when the wife's not home). I watch mostly Action or SF and listen to Classical, New Age, and Classic Rock. Will try and post a picture or diagram when time allows.

My mains do have a powered sub built in which takes some of the load from the amp. I also have the stand alone sub for the LFE duties. I currently run the mains as large + LFE and have the stand alone cut off at 40 Hz. My system is in an alcove, so I have bass traps in the corners behind the mains and one at the center of the front wall. Without the traps, the room was extremly boomy. One of the reasons for the upgrade is to have the auto room EQ. I am interested to see what it can do. Everything is currently adjusted by ear only. I may be in for a big surprise since my ears have definitely deteriorated over the years.
