I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the RPA-1 amplifier I bought recently on the emporium. I sat here for the WHOLE MORNING about 5 feet away from the door...with a dog that barks at EVERY LITTLE NOISE... and apparently the FedEx driver decided NOT to knock on my door to let me know they were there. They simply left a "SORRY WE MISSED YOU" note on the door. They must have been lazy and didn't want to move the 75 pound box to the door, because they made NO attempt to let me know they were there. WTF... now I have to drive 40 minutes out of my way to go pick it up because I can't wait around like this on Monday. This isn't the first time this happened, either... Do you guys know where I can file a complaint about this? I called customer service and they were less than helpful...

^So this is what has happened to me several times and Fedex has been horrible about rectifying it. In my case it was even worse because the delivery agent stated they stopped and nobody was home but they never even stopped at the house they just decided to skip the delivery. No note was left. After this happened two times I called to complain and found out they were using subcontractors to deliver in my area.
I escalated the issue with Fedex and the owner of the subcontracted delivery company actually called me to find out what was going on with his driver, apologized and said he would rectify this situation immediately as they would not get paid by Fedex when someone logs a complaint like I did.

That's happened to me before....
Have you thought about doing Hold @ FedEx to have it held at a FedEx store near you? Might save you some driving...

Ive had this happen to me before too. In my case the customer service rep was able to get a hold of the driver and they sent him back out.

Why not just have them attempt re-delivery tomorrow?

They told me "they don't deliver on Saturday -- only M-F... and that they can't contact the drivers because their cell phone is not a company phone. I think this is a bunch of bullshit.
What's the point of having something delivered when I have to drive an hour (round trip) to get it? That's the closest Fedex facility...

It's called corporate speak for we really don't want to contact somebody outside of myself to help you out.

He already called Customer Service... My experience has been that Customer Service isn't that helpful, and only sometimes if you escalate it does something get done.

It seemed like I was inconveniencing them....even though I was the one who waited around all day and they didn't even bother to knock on my door. Sorry to rant... I seem to be complaining a lot on here lately. lol I just needed to let off some steam -- it looks like this isn't an uncommon problem with FedEx.

Fedex used to be better. I have gone back to using UPS for the most part, and asked shipping parties to use UPS whenever possible for items being directed to me. You might also contact fedex customer service and explain you have started a thread about poor fedex service on the Emotiva website, a commercial account holder.
Option #2, call and raise hell, including speaking with a manager.

In my experience, most of what makes FedEx good or bad is the driver..... Good driver, few problems. Bad driver, constant frustration. Kind of like my mailman who periodically gives me other people's mail.

Kind of like my mailman who periodically gives me other people's mail. I must agree... I don't think the guy wanted to carry the 75 pound box to my doorstep so he just didn't knock. I gladly would have carried it from the truck for him rather than drive to pick it up... I just wish there were a way to more directly communicate with FedEx about these problems, but I guess it's the same with any large shipping company.

The next day I was outside and saw the truck. Flagged the guy down and asked him why he didn't even ring the doorbell. Oh man! The apologies were non-stop for 2 minutes! It's never happened again. ;D

FedEx delivery drivers are independent contract employees and not FedEx employees.
If you really think FedEx is that bad try having the moron gal that delivers for USPS on the days off for my regular mailman.I've watched her on several occasions literally drop items (fragile or not) over my 4' fence - not even bothering to open the gate and set it inside the fence - just drop it like it wasn't a concern at all. The trouble with what she did was it was pouring down rain. Fortunately I saw her but not in time to catch her to chew her ass out. I did got to the local office the following Monday and asked to see the postmaster. He acted like he couldn't have cared less. I got a bit hot and told him it was attitudes such as his that will make me use FedEx or UPS whenever possible. I did notice a change however - last time she delivered a package it was put on the porch right next to the door where it would stay nice and dry - and that was on a sunny day! Sometimes it pays to complain.

I've been sitting right by the door when I heard a loud bang. The mail guy had thrown a box all the way from the road at my screen door and it had bounced off the screen which had a glass screen. Luckily it didn't break.

Well, I had a package on my porch when I got home however due to the construction guy from next door coming to talk to me about the privacy fence he is building for me, my daughter coming home so we could give my siberian Husky her allergy shot and then taking her for a walk, when I got home I remembered the package. his was a small package from UPS. I was aware I was expecting a package and had traced it knowing it was coming from Alabama. My X-ref 12 after repair was the package. Typically when a package comes from this location it is not delivered until Monday. Well, damn woudn't you know it, there's a damn white tag on my door from FedEx telling me the had made their first attempt to deliver my package. All I could do was cuss and say why did I go and walk the dog as I do and have to do everyday? I doubt they will attempt a deliver tomorrow so I will have to wait til monday to get my sub back and I was planning on putting it through it's paces tonight with the second half of FCA35.

Usually the FedEx driver rings the doorbell and leaves the package on the doorstep. The last time I ordered my gear (USUB and XDA-1) I was away on business. He rang the doorbell and hemsterwife opened the door. The driver offered to carry the boxes inside and asked where she would like them placed. Now wanting to have the boxes sit in the hallway she pointed upstairs, around the corner to my theater. He carried them up and left them neatly on one side.
I know in the past the drivers have refused to come inside (likely due to liability issues?) but this time it was impressive. Obviously YMMV...
