I just ordered XPR-2. I have 15A circuit and will be using Pangea IEC adapter because I intend to use my high quality(10AWG) 15A power cord with the XPR-2. All I have to do is plug the adapter to the back of XPR-2 and plug my heavy duty cord to the Pangea(part number PG2015ADP) available through Audio Advisor.Nobody has mentioned about what gauge power cord comes with XPR-2. All your experts advice would be appreciated.I have Polk audio RTIA7 speakers and they are fairly higher in sensitivity. So,I don't think I will trip the 15A circuit in my home. I might not have to use more than 50W to play them pretty loud and with the power XPR's have I think it will be enough to get every tiny details out of recordings. What do you guys think? I think it will be a great sounding amp and also a beautiful well built piece of gear. A 10AWG wire can handle about 30A, so yours should work fine. I don't know what size comes with the XPR-2 but I'd guess 12AWG, should be the same as an XPR-5.

Thanks for your input AudioHTIT.Yeah! I think you are right.I have used Parasound and B&K amps for the last 10 years.I am presently running my Polks with 5 channel B&K(Bi-amped) with 4 channels of B&K.I have never tripped any circuits so far and max wattage of B&K is 1875W.So,I think I will be alright with this XPR-2.I have many other gear connected to the same circuit but they don't use that much power.Yeah! It is X'MAS time and I just have to treat myself!!!!!!!

Hey danr,I need your expertise on this too about not using that Furman adapter.I just want to use my power cord and an adapter on the back of the XPR-2(I can connect my power cord to that adapter) Sold by audio advisor.Make is Pangea.

Another cheaper alternative to the Furman adapter is to replace your outlet with a 20 amp one. Your 15 amp breaker will still protect your house wiring.

Porscheguy is right on this one.It is against the NEC to do that.I can also be more careful and get the Furman adapter, but it is 14-3 gauge and this amp can draw some power.I don't know the wiring inside the walls. I think it is better for me to use the thicker power cord with the adapter.I don't want to start another discussion about benefits of power cords, but I am happy with this one.

Wow, this thread has been active. I'm gonna wait until there are some reviews on the XPR-2. I keep going back and forth! There are benefits to both.
Thanks... and keep it going!

I'll be waiting until after Christmas to see where my budget stands (after all the gift buying and all), but I do know that an XPR-2 is in the cards at some point in the near future, besides my XPR-5 is getting lonely for another Reference level partner. ;D

You know LCS...a lonely amp does not sound nearly as good as one with close friends. I think you had better resolve the loneliness sooner rather than later. They talk to each other when we're away at work, you know...just like the pets in our households do.
