Guys, I'm struggling. I can't find anything that is reasonably priced that can hold 3 of these Beasts. Everything either can't handle the weight, isn't deep enough, etc. I need something that looks like this (scrunch the Hs together and it will become clear): _ H H H
I'd like it to be more of an end table or furniture style rather than those industrial racks.
My one have any ideas?
Thanks, Dan

You will have a hard time finding a 'furniture style' to hold that weight stably and with enough shelf clearance. Even the modular shelf systems that are designed to hold amplifier weight probably don't have enough clearance.
My Lovan Sovereign system at 10 inches of clearance would barely hold a XPR-1 and would definitely not give you enough 'breathing room' at the top. You could rig a 10 inch frame with 4 inch frame above it without placing a shelf on the lower frame, but that might look pretty ugly and would still cost about 300 dollars per 'rigged shelf'.
The VTI BL 404 (or BLG 404 for the tempered glass) Series modular system has a clearance of 13 inches for the tallest shelf unit.

I saw the VTI BLG404...but couldn't find whether there was an option to stack 3 of the 13" modules.

www.vtimanufacturing.com/BL404.htmTry contacting VTI directly. Each shelf supports 200 pounds, but the entire rack system has a weight limit of 300 pounds. However, this might be different if you stack three 13 inch units. A BL404-01 and two 13 inch units would accomodate three of your beasts.

Why not try calling up a local woodworker/carpenter, they can make something to your personal specifications, and it could match other furniture as well as have that WAF.

In the vein of what was said in the previous post, check this guy out. He will make anything you want to your specification. His work looks reasonably priced and I am considering one of his racks in tiger maple and cherry ;D. He told me about 2 - 3 weeks to fill an order. Www.timbernation.com

Another option is the Sanus Euro modular rack system like I have. Was just behind it so left it pulled out for purposes of this photo. It has a high Bitsandbytes Acceptance Factor but the WAF could be an entirely different matter. This gives you a lot of versatility - and with castors an option, makes it easy to go behind the racks to fudge with the wiring and connections. This does not have the vibration isolation control the previous listed units possess so would not recommend placing a turntable on top. The standard size between these shelves is 8" but you can purchase 12", 5" or 18" pillars as an option. The cost of the racks holding my 3 XPA-1's is broken down as follows: EVAB base ........................$89.99 3 EFAS shelves................$209.67 3 sets EFP12 pillars...........$89.97 CK2 castor set...................$24.99 Total................................$414.62, plus shipping and taxes. They must be ordered through a Sanus dealer. www.sanus.com/us/en/products/av-racks/av-euro/ps. My sub placement by the way is an experiment gone wrong. It used to be in front of my setup. So was asking myself 1) could I get away with one sub in the corner and 2) could I move 2 of my XPA-1's to the rack on the other side and place dual subs on top of these racks? Discovered the sub was too directional to my ears and it seemed I lost a lot of impact with the sub off the floor. Besides, when I replace the television with a larger one, it makes the issue moot. So dual subs it will be placed on the floor. Also after I took this shot and saw it on my puter, I rushed over with a straight edge to see if the tiny Uverse unit was indeed bending in my Oppo. Glad to say it was a trick of the light. Hope this helps. Good luck with your search. Walt
