I am having the black screen issue after installing a Samsung 830 128GB SSD. Before installing the SSD, My system consisted of an i7-2600, GeForce GTX560Ti, MSI P67A-C43(B3) motherboard, and a 1.0 TB WD Caviar Black. I ordered a Samsung 830 128GB and Seagate 3.0TB HDD. My intention was to use the Samsung SSD as my boot drive, put large programs and games on the Caviar, and store music and videos on the Seagate. I did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro on the 830 set to AHCI in the BIOS. Installing the OS, drivers, and numerous SSD tweaks (eg disabling PF and 20ish other SSD tweaks) went smoothly. I even installed the NVIDIA graphics driver with no problem.
The black screen however, started to happen when I was formatting the WD black drive using the hard disk tool in Windows 7. The caviar black drive that was my main drive was quick formatted using the Windows 7 OS disk, then partitioned so that Windows would recognize it after I booted with the new SSD. While doing a long format of the WD Black using the Windows 7 HDD tool, the computer froze and reboot itself. Since then, whenever I boot it up the screen goes black when you're supposed to enter the Windows password. I uninstalled the nvidia graphics driver and it boots up well, as does in safe mode. Both the Seagate, which intend to use as a storage drive, and the WD Black, which I intend to install most of my programs and all my games on are plugged into the SATA II ports and the Samsung SSD is the only drive plugged into the SATA III port. I tried installing different Nvidia drivers dating back to 2011 and using the driver wipe tools each time. Every driver produced the same black screen at login. I tried plugging the monitor into a different DVI port, unpluging both HDD's. How can I fix this? Do I have to reinstall OS? Or buy an AMD card? I would really really appreciate some help. I spent hours trying to fix this....
