A new proud Emotiva owner checking in. I bought 2 XPA-1 monoblocks and an XSP-1 pre during the Holiday Sale, along with various interconnects and speaker cables.
For digital, I'm currently running an Onkyo C-7030 CDP (Canare coax), a laptop based music server using Jriver Media (generic usb), and a Pure I-20 iphone dock (Canare optical) into a Benchmark DAC 1 USB. The Benchmark feeds the XSP-1 using balanced XLR cables from Emotiva.
For analog, I use a Technics SL-1210 MK2 TT with an Ortofon M2 Blue cartridge, into a stock Jolida JD9 tube phono stage. The Jolida is connected to the XSP1 using Tara Labs RSC-C2 RCA interconnects.
The XSP-1 feeds the 2 XPA-1's thru Emotiva XLR cables, which then drive my vintage Acoustat Model 3 Electrostats through Emotiva speaker cables.
The Acoustats are notoriously hard to drive, with impedance sometimes dropping between 1 to 2 ohms, but the Emotiva Monoblocks drive the Model 3's with authority, really bringing out the speed, fidelity, detail and dynamic range Acoustats are known for.
I'm currently extremely satisfied with my setup. In the future I'd like to pick up an Oppo universal player, a top notch fast and musical Subwoofer, and a VPI Traveler or equivalent TT. I'm also going to try tube rolling in the Jolida as I can afford some different 12Ax7's.
I am currently in audio nirvana, and I would like to thank Emotiva for making quality high end audio gear that's affordable for us regular working folks!
