Does anyone know why my flac files shows up as mp3 on my oppo103 when accessed through jriver but doesn’t when accessed directly through my network ? I do have jriver’s network setup as no converting, compressing and output as direct. Note; I have xp as my operating system and oppo hard wired And I just downloaded jriver

What did you find out? That the Oppo doesn't have that file extension ID in it's memory?

Should play the FLAC files no problem. I can stream to my Yammie and Oppo 95 via JRMC 18.
Did you see the free media app for the OPPO?

Okay, so I'm a newbie to emotiva and jriver. I just purchased the mac version of jriver and prior to adding in the emotiva XPA-200 amp and xda-2 preamp/dac, I was running through my Denon receiver successfully with good sound. A lot of the material out there on jriver is windows related, so it's not a lot of help. i haven't figured out what I'm doing that allows music to play sometimes and not others. I'm selecting the option presented for the dac output and working with minimal other settings....does anyone know if I need to driver for mac, or what optimal settings in jriver might be? Many thanks....so looking forward to hearing this amazing equipment! Oh....I've ripped cds using wav files.

You shouldn't need any drivers. On thing that can cause some weirdness is whether or not you have the device in exclusive mode. Ie jriver takes over the output device.
I'd right click on the player item in the left nav bar and manually select the xda as the output device and see if that helps.

Thanks greenkiwi....looks as if everything was set right, but I restarted the mac and zapped the PRAM and voila, it worked. I'm not sure how much of this is the beta status of jriver for mac at this point, but it crashes pretty frequently. Anybody have experience with audirvana? Is it a more stable option at this point?

I'm sure it's more stable at this point, but MC has been making big strides. It's worth going over and posting your crash info over there on their forums.
I find that their library management is one of the best out there. If you need something to tide you over until it's stable, I'd get BitPerfect and use it with iTunes.
