I am going to start with the parts:
Stuff I had sitting around :
1.OCZ ZX Series 80+ Gold 1250W Power supply
2.MSI - 890FXA-GD70 - Motherboard
3. 2 x PowerColor AX6950 2GBD5-2DH Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video (Only installed 1 for now but the other one can fit)
4. 3TB hard drive - forget make and model
New parts purchased:
1. AMD FX-6200 Zambezi 3.8GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6200FRGUBOX
2.Fractal Node 605 case.
3. 4 Patriot Viper 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (32gb total)overkill!
4. Samsung 840 Series 2.5 inch 120GB SATA III (SSD) MZ-7TD120BW
I was going to install Windows 8 but did not like it too much so stuck with windows 7-64bit Ultimate
The Fractal Node case quality is one of the nicest built cases I have even seen. I know next time I am looking for a case I will definitely look at them first.
As far as the media side goes still messing around with the settings and seeing what I like the best but still looking. I installed a few emulators so far and am using www.hyperspin-fe.com/content.php as the front end.
Here goes a naked shot

This should of taken about 2 hours tops but ended up taking the whole weekend because of Murphy and his stupid law.
I check the motherboard site to make sure the cpu was compatible and it says it is. So after everything was loaded I fired it up and it turned on but nothing. I the disconnected each piece of hardware and everything failed. I thought the board was toast. I have another computer with the same board so took that apart and put the board in the new pc and fired it up only to fail again. I then took the failed board from the first attempt and went to put it into my old cpu case and it slipped and I broke a cap off.... Now I had to solder this back on and it was so small this took me forever to do. By the way I am at the dining room table garage has no heat and its cold. So that's fixed I then google the board went to lke 50 site finally someone has the same problem as me. They never said once of the mfg. website that in needs a special BIOS update to work. I finally get the BIOS update completed by this time it is around 10pm and I am done with this for tonight.
Sunday I get up bright and early to load windows on the new pc and put together the old one. Old one went back together in about 15 minutes. The new one loaded windows pretty quick since its a ssd drive. then did all the windows updates an crap. This took a couple of hours. I then finall ygot on the pc and installed the utilities and drivers for usb 3 and video card stuff. I then look and the install was over 70 gb It should be more like 7-9gb when done.
I then looked at everything but couldn't figure it out. I reformatted and tried again only to see the same. Then I remembered to change the page file size and hibernation stuff off. Once this was done I rebooted and Success!
Have a few emulators up and running 100% but still working on gathering everything together. I know this will never be completed and the saga of computers continues.
