Hi. I just ordered last night the XPA-5 and 5 2 meter RCA cables. It is going to connect to my integer dtr40.3. I'm nervouse I won't hear an improvement. My speakers are M&K LCr 750 thx mk2. Surr55t tripole and SVS pc12+.
I've heard some say there won't be any difference in sound quality. So that makes me nervouse.

Welcome to the forum and don't worry just enjoy the power of 5, separates are always a benefit IMO.....but make sure to let us know your impressions.

I'm soooo looking forward to this. I wish the Amp had meters like McIntosh though. Be nice to get an idea of output. XPA-5 does look cool though.

Ok I will 100% say you will love it. I was skeptical myself. I am such a believer now. This thing is incredible. Sounds you never knew were ther you will start hearing. Perfect panning effects. Just gorgeous sound. Loud as you want without becoming thin or harsh. Just bliss
Movies and music will never sound the same

I'm waiting for my xpa-5 to show up too - can't wait. I know this question has come up before but I'm still having a hard time finding things on here. I use a power conditioner for protection and because my power really isn't the greatest (voltage is all over the place). With the xpa-5 should I skip the conditioner and just plug straight into the wall?

Yes, I believe the general consensus around here and from Emotiva's point of view is to plug the amp directly into the wall.
From the X-Series manual:
"Surge Protection ‐ Along with built‐in noise filtering, your X Series amplifier is equipped with overcurrent, undercurrent, and spike protection."
If you are having really bad power issues, then you could try a CMX-6. If you have DC offset in your power line, try a CMX-2. Neither of these will limit peak current to the amps as other brands/types might.

I have all my amps plugged into two Panamax units. I know, I know...for some that is heresy and I know that Emo says they have their amps protected but they don't condition the power. Swings in voltages can still stress the circuitry without tripping it off and it does affect performance quality.

Welcome to the Lounge.. Emotiva recommends to plugs the amps straight into the wall, as noted above. While this is their recommendation, if you feel better about using a power conditioner, just make sure the one you use can handle high current amps. Me personally, both of my XPA-1s are connected directly to the wall, but the XPA-5 is connected to the power conditioner, solely because this is the most convenient option (had I another outlet within reach, I would connect to the wall). It should be noted that the monoblocks do all the heavy driving in my set up (the Mirage are power seekers) and the XPA-5 handles the center and surrounds. Best of luck and happy listening! I'm waiting for my xpa-5 to show up too - can't wait. I know this question has come up before but I'm still having a hard time finding things on here. How might the XPA-5 go with the XMC-1 if that thing ever releases? I'm curious because I could buy if if its good enough and would be much better then Integra. Only thing is I'd be worried because of all the crud with the UMC-1. Plus I'm so picky.

Only time will tell, I'm on the list for one but pretty far back though haha, but having a 40% off card makes it even that much more worth it and as for your question there is only a few that have heard it(Emofest 2012) so it will be hard for anybody to say which would be the better of the 2 but I'm sure it will pack a big punch sonically.....

I don't know that you'll see a real improvement going to the XMC-1 over the Integra. What will make a difference is to translate any digital inputs to analog before they go to the Integra using a DAC.
Back to the power conditioner subject, rather made a point that I totally agree with. If you are going to use one or two to protect your amps, make sure it has a high current side to plug them in to! Both of mine do and will handle two high current loads each so I'm covered.

Haha. Anytime I have something to do especially something I'm really excited for I won't be able to sleep the night before. Anxiety disorder or something. I'm going to try to sleep though.
I'm still nervous I may not like it much or notice a good enough improvement.
