I tried to upload this picture this morning, but it didn't work on my iPhone due to the size of the photo. It's a DirecTV broadcast of Fast Five. You can see the corner of the old Panny that this replaced. I went into the TV setup. THX Cinema mode automatically turns off that CAT mode, so I'm good to go there. As for the price match, I believe Adorama is done with their sale. There's a deals thread over on AVS which I how I found out about the Adorama sale. You might head over there and see what the best deal going is, and then you can get Best Buy to price match. Mark Attachments:

Added the UMC-1 recently too. Thanks Tom. XBox sounds so much better coming out of my speakers and sub. Although now that I have the new TV, I'm babying it a little and haven't hooked the xbox up yet. Heard something about avoiding games the first 100 hours. Don't know if I'll make it, but we shall see. Mark

Question.......how well does the set deal with room lights? I'm talking about maybe one table lamp that can be dimmed. I keep hearing about how plasmas can't handle room light.

That's old stuff that has a life of its own and never goes away, just like plasmas get burn in. That was all fixed long ago. Only if you have direct sunlight on the TV from windows do you need a very bright display, perhaps an LCD. The problem is that many folks audition flat panel TV's in a brightly lighted store where the LCD's are cranked up in brightness and thus many people say oh that is more bright and thus better. The excessive brightness is not necessary in 95% of rooms. I have two plasmas and they are great and simply superb (natural color, off angle viewing and no motion blur) on both Blu-Ray, DVD and HDTV. PS: Screen reflection problems seem to be much better on the newer plasmas.

I totally agree, I do notice my UT50 does have a glossy glass panel and if my lighting is up all the way I can see my couch reflection in the TV worse so on dark screens but hey that's why all my pot lights in the basement are on dimmers, and yes any TV with direct sunlight will wash out, my 32'' LCD upstairs washes out with too much sunlight for sure as any TV would. I know the ST and above models have a filtered screen but they were all out of my $$$ range. Chad

The VT50 does great with avoiding reflections. It's better than my 2007 Panasonic plasma but even that wasn't reflective enough to be bothered that much by it.
