I just got a great deal on a new TV. So excited! I had ruled out the VT series due to price but Best Buy price matched the Adorama deal.

I have the 55" version and it is by far the best television I have ever owned. At the time I bought it I was upgrading from a 46in LCD and felt the 55" was sufficient. It's not.(Well, it is but another time in life when bigger is better). Enjoy it, never owned or even saw a Kuro so I missed all of the hype and the picture they provide.

May I ask what the price was?

That's the exact same TV I want. I'm contemplating buying it now and lettings it sit until the new house is done, or waiting 6 months and seeing if I can locate a brand new one then. I too would like to know the price. I saw it over at Slickdeals for $2399 and was wondering if you got it any cheaper.
Also, I researched the new series from Panasonic and there is minimal improvement in the 2013 lineup. Definitely better off getting a discounted last-year model.

Jamscape,
$2399 is the price match. Ngmitter is correct, it doesn't look like the new ST60 and VT60 series models have anything new other than smart TV features. Picture quality-wise, the 50 series seems just as good.

Wow, great choice Mark!
We just got back from Japan where I had to watch my mother-in-laws TV's bought for her by my brother-in-law. The old Hitachi LCD was an over-saturated mess, although better when I toned it down some. Then he bought her a new LG super thin super duper LCD, just plain awful PQ.
We are home now and my wife immediately mentioned how great our Panny plasma looked and I agreed. Enjoy the new TV!

Thanks everyone. Just got it delivered today, and finished mounting it a couple of hours ago.
Impressive picture! I'm using the THX Cinema mode right now. Will get it calibrated at some point.
Amazing how much bigger a 65 looks when you get it in your house. A lot more screen than the 42" it replaced...

Perfect, you have it just in time for the NFL conference finals and of course the Superbowl which should look spectacular on the big TV!

I'm loving my new 60" UT50, replaced my 7 year old LG 50" which still works but wanted to go to 1080p and bigger isn't bad either Attachments:

Be sure to turn off the "CATS" auto-brightness adjustment, as its very annoying, and often comes as 'default on'. I went from a 42" to a 65" Panny also, and it is a very nice change!

I'm jealous. That's one beautiful set!
The only TV the wife and I have is an old 720p Sony.
