So I took the dive and decided to mate my XPR-5 with a pair of XPR-1's. Unfortuanitly the the XPR-1 i received on Friday will not power up. Unboxed it this afternoon, plugged it in and it does nothing, but stay on on standby mode (red light). Re- booted it a few times no luck. My 2nd XPR-1 comes in tomorrow and I hope I do not have the same problem. I will call Emo first thing in the morning. I'm hoping I don't have to send it in these bad boys are super heavy and shipping will be a killer. Not to mention I'm now out of cash with an XPR-5 and 2 XPR-1's on hand. Never had any issues with any of my other Emo gear, talk about luck right out of the box. As for the 5 it woks like a charm.

Is it on the same circuit as the XPR-5? If so, you might need to provide it with its own circuit.

Mickey,
No it's not. My plan was to use the amps some time in June when my wife and I will be looking in to getting a house. we're currently with the in laws so I'm limited. I bought them given the sale going on. I just opened both of them and tested one at a time. Like I said the 5 worked great while the 1 stayed on standby.
Thanks

Same circuit wouldn't matter just for turning them on or running a t low levels.... Not sure how many fuses are in that amp. That might be a place to look...
And as always, make sure you have no loose connections. It seems as though you plugged it in with no connections so...... call Emo I guess.

Porscheguy,
All the connections cheked. No loose cables and the amp was connected to one of my Martin Logan vantage speaker which by the way was connected to seperate outlet. Guess the only things to do is wait a few more hours to call in and my second XPR-1 to arrive.
Thanks

Try switching the power cable with the xpr-5 and unplugging everything else including interconnects and plug the amplifier directly to the wall with no power conditioner OR ANYTHING ELSE on the same circuit. Just the amp by itself and see if it powers on.

Thanks gar Will give it another shot in the morning. Removing all the connections. By the way the amp was the only thing plugged in the circuit. No luck.

if you can get an RMA just get emo to send a new XPR-1 and get the dead one collected at the same time. they should pick up the fedex charges IIRC

Wizard,
Guess I'll find out tomorrow. It would be bummer if I have to pay on an item that was DOA. I'm sure emo will take care of it. Will follow up then.

Sorry to hear about the amp bro. I'm sure EMO will step up since the amp arrived DOA. Keep us posted boss.

Is it on the same circuit as the XPR-5? If so, you might need to provide it with its own circuit. I have dual XPR-1's plus an XPR-5 all on the SAME 20A circuit which is non-dedicated and have cranked my HT system to very loud levels (over 100db) and have never tripped the breaker once.
