Now for the down side. They are used, they have some marks on the cabinets and worse of all one tweeter is dimpled. I had the same problem with my emo ERT 8.3 I picked up from the warehouse sale two woofers were dimpled. I used a vacuum it worked with no problem I had to put it against the cone they were that stubborn, you cant tell they were ever dimpled Yes, that is the problem with used, unseen, unlistened to. Overall I am impressed. Heard the vacuum trick. Can you tell me what kind of vacuum you used? I have two options. I have a large chop vac and I have a Dyson home vac. I read somewhere you where supposed to use a nozzle to affect a smaller portion of the tweeter at a time. I tried duct tape, no help. Someone else suggested blutack, have not tried that. I feel replacing it is the best real solution. I just have to figure out how deep I have to go in the replacement option. ANd without taking the tweeter apart I'm not sure how to tell. Need someone local to guide before I jump in. ( New thought, since these are 800's the tweeter is tube loaded with the back being open along with the front. A vacuum may not create suction because of this)

I used my rainbow vacuum it has a lot of suction, I put the hose against the and moved it around in like a swirling motion

Well, I just may give it a suck and see if Dyson lives up to it's name.

Turned out per B & W they are N804's. Ordered a new tweeter today, about $150. Should be an easy install according to the customer service guy I was emailing. Won't know until it arrives.

UPS delivered the new tweeter this morning (sure glad I took the day off) and installation was about as simple as it could be. Yes, that tweeter was affected by the dimple or whatever caused it to get that way. Now I am questioning the "other" tweeter as should I replace it or not. It has discoloration on the dome and I really think there is a "difference" in timber but that's subjective. Happy with my purchase and the sound these new speakers provide. Sure I would love diamonds, but who can afford them?

Wish I saw this thread sooner. B&W also sells replacement diaphragms for the tweeter that cost a lot less than replacing the whole tweeter. In the future if you or anyone else reading this has a pushed in tweeter please check to see if you can take it apart with a screwdriver (was easy on my 601s) and replace the $15 diaphragm. As a temp fix they are easy to pop back out pushing from the back also.

It does sound better though so there may have been damage to it. .

They come with Carpet spikes. If you want the pads for hard floor I have some very nice ones from Sound Care that are self-leveling and fit the 6mm thread for that series. The graphic is linked to Sound Care website. Did you install these okay? Sorry about your tweeter problems and hope the seller disclosed prior to your purchase. I never take my tweeter grills off but do with the mid and woofer.

I never take my tweeter grills off but do with the mid and woofer. Yes and they worked wonderfully. Tweeter replaced, sounds better then previous one. After removing I was able to smooth out the dimple (and the second one I added while removing it) but I could still see the lines from where it was dimpled. I am going to eventually replace the other tweeter just so both are new and equally performing.
