Hi All - I'm considering either the Swan Diva 5.2 or the 6.2 and I'm hoping other Diva owners can help me figure out whether the UPA-200 would be sufficient to power either or both of these models. Or do I need to spring for the XPA-200? I'm new to the audiophile club thanks to my XDA-1 which sent me down this rabbit hole so any advice would be appreciated!

Well typically people would want a little more info like how large your room is, how loud you listen, what kind of music? From the specs both models have a 90 dB sensitivity - meaning 100 Watts would give you 110 dB - close up. If you're on a budget and the build quality of the X series doesn't impress you the UPA-200 would probably do a good job. But the speakers can handle more and the XPA-200 has a larger power supply, as well as XLR connections you could use with the XDA-1 if you wanted. More power is rarely a bad thing, if you can swing it I'd lean toward the XPA-200 especially in a larger room. In a very large room with loud preferences and dynamic music, an XPA-2 wouldn't be too much.

Thank you for your response AudioHTIT! These speakers will be going into a NYC apartment so the room is relatively small (~14'x8'.) I'll be sitting perhaps 6 feet in front of them and though I'd love to listen to music at louder levels I rarely do so to avoid having to see my upstairs neighbor. I'll be playing mostly classical, jazz, and acoustic music but after reading your advice I'm certainly leaning more towards the XPA-200 in order to fill a larger space in the future when I'm lucky enough to have one

Not much difference between 6.1's and 6.2's spec wise. I had my 6.1's hooked up to a pioneer 80 watt avr. That sounded good. Then upa2 (120 watt) and that sounded much better at all volumes including lower. rm 16x12. Went for the xpa5 but only listened to the combo for a few days when packed it all up for a move. That sounded wonderful to me. Everytime I brought in more power I prefered it.

Plan for the future and buy all the amp you can afford. ...
