Down the years ive owned such brands as David Hafler, Bryston,
EAD ,JM LAB ,KEF etc etc
I recently purchased Klipsch RF7IIs and a anthem 225 both unheard and went solely on reviews.I spent alot of time on the Klipsch forums and noticed alot of people talking about this Emotiva gear, so i took a look at there site and forums.
Now im quite happy with the RF7s and anthem it sounds great but, this many people cant be wrong, i called up emotiva and got a "great " salesman i tried to order what i believed was a close match to the anthem , which was the XPA-2 and a USP-1 unfortunately the XPA wasnt in stock so this great salesman suggested XPA-100 im like huh??
All the rave is about the Beastly XPA-2 and its cheaper than 2 monoblocks, ok i agreed to the monoblocks since they can be had now, few weeks later my gear arrives hooked it all up and put on Bad Companys Bad Co CD played 2 songs and turned it off,
i turned to the wife and said, this is like having completely new set of speakers in fact the difference between the anthem and emotivas is massive.
The Klipsch where a bit bright on the anthem and many of my buddys had commented on that but, thats just Klipsch or so i thought. The anthem is rated basically the same power 225wpc but the power comming from these 2 xpa-100s seems to be practically double that ,yes DOUBLE. The bass is solid and tight although the mid bass on the anthem was a lil bit better, the brightness is completely gone high notes are smooooth and clear
This the biggest wow factor i have experienced to date ive swapped pleny of gear out in my time but, this was truely an amazing experience and it has been a real priviledge.
Im also glad the Xpa-2 was out of stock as you would have a tough time conviencing me it is better ;D
BTW the Who Concert was phenomenal those guys still got it at 70
thx
