Movie 9 Video 10 Audio 9
We can argue ad nauseum as to whom is the better James Bond, but one thing that is perfectly clear, the story lines to the James Bond movies i.e. Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall bring a new era of Bond films to the silver screen. Sure, there is still the pretty ladies and remarkable gizmo's (albeit toned down in these movies) not to mention great stunts and the like, but now we see a very human side to life, especially the life of James Bond so well played by Daniel Craig. In this latest iteration, he's hardly the master secret agent, to the contrary. It is intimated that he might be past his prime with his best days behind him. Only with the help of "M" (Judi Dench) is he given a chance to once again prove his mettle. We get a look into his life and human frailties not offered to us by any other Bond movie. This human touch brings us all that much closer to James Bond the man, the son - the imperfect human.
As with all the James Bond movies it is quite a good effort, and among the 3 Daniel Craig offerings it is the best one yet. I can't wait for him to reprise his role once again.
Sean Connery must be proud.

Excellent review and spot on. It's as though they have injected some of the grittiness of real life into the scripts and story presented so antiseptically in the past. I've enjoyed Daniel Craig's portrayal of the venerable 007 and hope to see more.
A new Q with a nerdy twist and an aloof disdain of the field agent joins the cast, super sexy Naomi Harris brings the sexual tension between Miss Moneypenny and 007 to new heights and an emerging M character (well played, Mr. Fiennes!) may prove to revitalize the continuing adventure created by Ian Fleming oh so long ago.
I am looking forward to the next one!
R.I.P. Mum...

I agree that Skyfall was a good movie, although very different with a new twist to the Bond saga.... ;D With all the "old fart" messages to mum & Bond, it will be interesting to see how they twist it all with the new mum being one with that vocal message, young nerdy Q, etc...

It was interesting to see Bond fail. A whole new side of his character is definitely being exposed. Excellent movie.
Go ahead, eject me. See if I care...

Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond, without disrespecting the others that is - he wouldn't be what he is without them... And as much as I can appreciate Skyfall and Quantam of Solace I must say that Casino Royale is immediately my favorite.

Although I think Daniel Craig is a vast improvement in the Bond series, I can't get past that it only happened because Paul Greengrass gave us a more compelling and realistic Assassin.
I'm not a spring chicken, but in my life time Bond was never a team player. He played with toys, his team usually showed up after he foiled Spector's plans. Actually he became a caricature, the villains were always so over the top. There goals were singular, world domination. In defeating them so many times, it became hard to imagine him ever suffering a loss. Yes, I know he lost a wife in her majesty's secret service, but that was a long time ago. His adversaries propensity of overly complicated plans to execute him, and monologue their plans made the series a joke. In the face of a successful new comer whose only goal is to find out who he is and he does it with a ink pin, towel and magazine, this is what gave us a more human Bond, not just some casting change.
I know it may seem I'm picking on the new Bond,I'm not I'm just venting on the trash that came before and that they needed someone to show them how to do it.

Agree the series has been revived and the 3 Craig movies are awesome. I love that Craig's versions shows flaws/the human side, AND that his version gets physical...not just relying on witty remarks and gadgets.

when in comparison to the other bonds or should I say the other actors dan craig puts it in the same league as sean connery, the previous few bonds fell into emulation of roger moore..
casino royale was a hit and miss for me while craig did a good job it's like doing a repeat movie...

We use that, the airport scene and the closing scenes as reference for showing off our system..... ;D
