Very good simple explanation of the various classes.
A couple of question though:
“In a Class A/B amplifier, both output devices remain on at all times, but one or the other is usually doing most of the work at any given time.”
I didn't think this was true. One device does turn off, but it does so at a point where the second device is well into conduction and the non linearity of the first device has minimal impact as it shuts off.
Does the XPA-1L achieve both A and A/B operation by a sliding bias point?
