Congrats!
Those are very nice loudspeakers. Did you win the matching stands as well?

Nice score! ;D Now you need to buy more Emotiva gear and set up another audio system!

I really like their "dynamic" shape.

They'll probably be replacing my Era Design 4 speakers in my 2 channel. So they'll be driven by Upa-200, Usp-1, Xda-1. They're front ported so they should go nicely in the stereo.
Don't think the stands are included, that would be a nice surprise. Will get them in a couple of weeks.

Wow man, awesome! I wish I had won a pair of those puppies!!! Kinda low on the sensitivity, but nothing some good ole emo power can't handle. You will have to report on the SQ when you get em!

You will really enjoy those speakers. I was able to spend some time at Axpona with the 3.0 Venere towers. The 3.0 didn't give up that much compared to the much more expensive Amatis. The 3.0's will likely be my next speaker, replacing my Paradigm S8's.

I am quite excited to get them in. I am getting a pair in Black, no stand although from what I have read I'll need to start saving for one. Will be a long couple of weeks until they come in. Going to pick them up at the store so no local shipping to ruin them. I know the S8 Paradigms and they are nice.
Oppman99- I see you have a Rogue audio Perseus, how is that treating you? I have admired their equipment from afar.

I really like what the Rogue does for the high end. Cymbals sound just right. It also gives a very "live" character to most music. Have to say it plays very well with some of my older classic rock recordings. I may be parting ways with I though. Those Sonus Faber Venere 3.0's i mentioned were being run off a Simaudio integrated amp and that combination produced the sound I have been looking for (I think). I need to take some of my own test tracks to be sure. I do really enjoy the Rogue though.

You would only be able to watch Star Trek TNG with them. Nothing else. Ever.
Congrats, though. Maybe I will win something as cool some day. The last thing I won was a 12 D battery flash light in 4th grade at a crossing guard convention. It was bigger than me, and I could barely lift it. I could, however, play flash light tag from eight houses away so it paid off.

Picked these up today. Very excited. Initial impression is Awesome. Definite quality improvement over the old Era Designs D4, which I still really like.
I'd post a pic, but not sure how from iPad web interface. Warming them up with some Eric Clapton, Norah Jones, Ella & Louis and Dave Matthews Band.

Congrats! I had to pay for mine I just put a pair in my bedroom. The placement is horrible. I've tried numerous speakers and everything was boomy. These speakers fit perfectly. I'd say they are a very "warm" sound. Very different than I'm used to. The good thing is they seem to sound good no matter where I put them and no matter what components I used with them. Looks and build quality are great. Especially for the price. They look great on the stands, but warning... You have to build them and the instructions were a single picture on an index card showing the stand built. I'm still breaking mine in. I'm not sure if they're getting better with break in or I'm just getting more used to them. Either way.. Looks like I found a keeper. I hope you like them

I didn't get the stands as part of the contest and I don't have the cash for a pair. I really like the speakers. They sound really good and have opened up quite a bit since yesterday. I think they are a good match for my Emotiva gear. The biggest change I see from my other speakers (other than the obvious frequency extension) is the soundstage is more 3d. The Era speakers were flat with sound coming from between the speakers. Sound is now more out into the room, if that makes sense.
What are you using to drive your 1.5?

They do throw a great soundstage. I'm using a B&K 200.2 amp with a B&W Reference 5 preamp with them right now. I collect a lot of gear. I tried a few different amps, preamps, and integrateds on these speakers. It did well with them all. Initially I was going to use a marantz PM8004 with them. I will tell you, for little speakers they require a good amount of power. I think I'll end up with a more powerful integrated amp for them. I want something simple for the bedroom.
The stands are really a nice touch if you decide to opt for them down the road. They bolt to the stands for a nice solid connection. They tilt back slightly and come with nice big spikes. They also include saucers to put under the spikes to protect hard floors. I didn't try them without the stands, so I really can't comment on if they improve the sound.

Curious about your choice to use a 200W amp. Do you think they really need 200W? I realize that my speakers are brand new, but I am thinking about a bigger amp. I don't feel that the speakers fill the room like my other speakers. One of the reviews used a 300W and 250W amp, and raved. I'm wondering if 125W is enough.

A little more power never hurt anyone! They aren't very efficient. What you have I'm sure will do fine, but a little more power would really open them up. Keep in mind they're 6 ohms. My amp is 225w per channel into 8ohms 375w into 4ohms. So I'm guessing I'm actually giving them 300w per channel myself.
Actually I just looked up your amp. You're probably pushing over 160wpc into 6ohms. That should be plenty.
