Hello Lounge - I am interested in purchasing a used XPA-2, and I was wondering if age is a concern for any of Emotiva's line. The question is - Is there a difference in parts/sound/fidelity between revisions or batches of the amps? What improvements have been incorporated over the years? Are some model numbers sought after? Thanks for the help.

Of the amps that I own, and other owners experiences, I'm not aware of any differences between any amps that share the same model.
I've never heard of any year/revisiion/batch performing any differently.
Of the 5 amps I own, the only one that I've ever needed service on was when I carelessly broke the RCA jack on an XPA-1.
Improvements? Not sure. I think that fundamentally they're all the same.

Thanks for the quick reply Jim. The XPA-2 line has +5 years under it's belt, and suppliers or PCB board parts can change during this time. I guess I am asking for the "nitty-gritty" of parts. I am an engineer, and if I had amps laying around...I would want to tweak them in any way I could. Never satisfied - you know?
