Good god man! Technically I assume it to be 450 watt monos sold as a pair. If you looked at their ALS speaker, you may notice something about their tweeters.... Could this be what they are going to use to integrate into the new emo speakers tweeters?

So what do we actually think that this means for us here in Emotiva land? How long before a product will be ready to consume as a ID product? This is great news, but unless they were already collaborating it could be a long time before we see an Emotiva branded tube product. Seeing the prices on the Bob Carber stuff I doubt that they are just going to cut it in half or less. I'm excited, but I'm thinking we have 8 months to save up.

Yeah, it could be a while. But it will be worth the wait. Can't wait to see what they come up with. Maybe a tube integrated amp with 50-100 watts per channel? Oh yeah, I'll be all over that one! Tube DAC, tube CDP, tube toaster? I'll take it all!

When I read the title of this thread I expected it to be an April Fool's joke... I've been a fan of Mr. Carver's work since his designs for Phase Linear. The future promises to be interesting.

I can only imagine the final form of what is to come. I can only imagine the debates that will ensue as to which is better.
What I cannot imagine is where the 'tube' line will be integrated. Or what the comparisons will be between the XPR and the CPR. Those of us with Klipsch heritage speakers who know what tubes can do for these oldies, are undoubtedly VERY interested.
I believe that some other tube base manufacturers are somewhat perplexed by this announcement. Internet direct, with a good reputation, with cutting edge design, and most likely an outstanding warranty, would make me nervous if I was Irish.
I expected something along these lines but, wow, really, BOB CARVER? OMG!

Holy cow - I did NOT see this one coming at all! Mark Mark, that is exactly what was running through my head as well. How cool is this announcement though? Big Dan sure wasn't exaggerating on this one when he hinted at something big and exciting. I think this is a win-win deal myself.Bob Carver is a legend and deservedly so I think, but as great and innovative as he is on the design side, the business side never seemed to fare as well. This lets Bob do his thing without having to deal with the business details and brings so much to the Emotiva/Sherbourn/Emotiva Pro family.Tubes yes but much more as well as was hinted at. Nice score Dan.
