And they are very close in voicing and performance to the Stealth 8...

The tweeter is the same type and size. But the stealth 8 goes 9 Hz deeper and 6 dB louder. Which can make all the difference... For instance, the 8 positioned close to a wall ("half space") will hit reference peak (105 dB) at 12 feet (= 10 dB lower than 1 meter) while the 6 will not.

I was wondering if someone can chime in as to what the audible differences are between the Airmotiv 6 and the Stealth 6 (or the Airmotiv versus Stealth line in general). I've read the product pages for all, and looked at the specs so I see that in general, the Stealth line has the better specs. But I'd be interested in reading impressions as to comparisons in the actual sound between them.
Also - do the two lines use the exact same tweeter?

I do know as far size goes the Airmotiv4 and 5 uses the smaller tweeter and the 6's and the 8's uses the bigger tweeter. It seems just the tweeter face plate is different on the Stealth's version. The Stealth 6 uses a different woofer without the bullet phase plug from the Airmotiv6 than I can see.

Trying to revive this discussion, I'm in the market for either the airmotiv 6 or the stealth 6 and I will be using it in my upstairs living room connected to an archam av9 and using a totem storm subwoofer.
Which would you guys recommended shipped to my door in Canada there is a $400 difference in price.

...And now what? Since a while ago, Stealth 6 has disappeared from the list of "Powered Monitors" on the Emotiva website. Is Emotiva no longer making this product? Is there a replacement in the works? Is there something wrong with the 2 that I already have? (pretty sure I know that the answer to this one is a big "NO" by the way they have sounded for their life so far) Anyway, what's up with that?

It has been quite some time now, having owned them I don't understand why a replacement hasn't been made available yet, a really great sounding monitor and they did sell, as far as I'm concerned they don't need to release new stuff so I then am not buying new stuff hahaha.

Creating a new speaker is no small bit of work. Crossovers, Cabinet bracing, and voicing, amplification matching, driver selection, and much more. The Stealth takes time getting that sound you would really like. The Stealth 8 and the 6 were made with this in mind, so yeah, some patience, and I am sure Big Dan, and Lonnie and the team will make everybody happy. I think the Stealths are amazing, and another Emotiva Audio present day classic that you can enjoy for a long time to come.

My guess would be that since the release of the Airmotive 6S interest in the Stealth 6 dropped to such a level that it was uneconomical to keep in the range.

Also, it could be that the stealth 6 was such a great seller that they decided to make the new series in house as part of their bring it to the states movement. I guess we shall see.

My guess (and it's only a guess) is, just like the Stealth 6, the current Stealth 8 is being discontinued too. Right now, it's priced on sale for $150 less just like the 6 was before you knew they were gone. I'm hoping for an active/wireless version, along the line, like Klipsch has done. If not, we may see a completely new active monitor lineup.

I couldn't resist the temptation of getting the stealth 8 at this sale price. I could wait for the next line up, but then again, there's always going to be next generation of products. Might as well take advantage of the sale.
Hope it's mint, because I had to return my Airmotiv 6s because the tweeter doesn't work.

If they made an update with a 3dB notch at 2kH I'd be all over them. This seems to be the new boost frequency for all the tin ears doing remastering these days, and it drives me up the wall.

If the airmotiv line was anything to go by the stealth 8 would be an excellent purchase.
