If you do, you can join me in the asylum. I have 2 XPA-1s and an XPA-5, and at the discounted pricing at Emo on the Road, I couldn't resist and so also have 2 XPR-1s and an XPR-5 sitting boxed in my foyer as of this morning. That said, I'm in a house so no neighbors on the other side of the walls!
I agree with the advice others passed on here about saving for the house, and the advantage of not having to move the XPRs if you wait until after the move.

I think you should do it too. It's a good idea to make the swap and pocket the savings.
I had the XPA-5 and now have the XPR-5...it's not close. Plus another guy said the XPR-5 equaled the XPA-1 (I'm paraphrasing).
It's sound thinking buddy.

Well this thread certainly has its fair share of split opinions eh? Most seem to be on the side of saving and just sticking with what I got. It definitely is a nice set up! While others who have experience with both lines say XPR is the way to go. So I guess my question is this : For the who have had both XPA-5 / XPA-1 and now own XPR amps,... WHY did you make the change? Was it worth it?
As far as moving the darn things go,... I totally agree. Moving the 3 Xpa's in to my condo and up a flight of stair was miserable. I can't imagine adding another 30 lbs and a bigger box to that! I might have design a system of pullies and cables to get it done.
speaking of,... what kinda furniture are people using with the XPR amps? I had enough trouble finding a TV stand that fit 3 XPA series amps!
