Anyone gone down this route with XPA-1's?

I recall Lonnie himself mentioned some time back that the XPA-1 would not complain about 2 ohm loads ... but the search in this board is so pathetic I cant find anything.

I have a need to drive 2 x 4 ohm drivers (bass only) Woofer - SEAS L26RO4Y, D1004-04 in parallel...I have tried series and I am told that this would result in the combination being -6db down. The are in an open baffle (Linkwitz LX521)

I doubt that I would be pushing them that hard...the mids are being driven by UPA-1's and the tweeters share a UPA-2 for L/R

Here is the spec graph for the woofer. Looking at the graph I would say its likely to be closer to 2.5 ohms as the dip is around 5ohms.

XMC-2 is struggling along

I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.

It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

For the most part it just all works...when it doesn't then it's time to rub a few brain cells together and soon enough it's all good to go again.

Like I said impednace dips would probably force the resulting 2 ohm load even lower. Not even the 220V will help you then

The impeadance dip is 5 ohms on the 'nominal' 4 ohms based on the graph...ill ask the seas guys to comment on the linkwitz forum, but based on the the dip would be around 2.5 ohms in parallel.

So far so good, not going into protect mode and heat seems to be fine, but I'm watching the F1 race now so not playing anything. Maybe a bit later tonight I'll be playing some more.

Sound mighty good now tho!
