So I received my new XPR-2 today and paired it with my polk RtiA9 towers, all I can say is wow it makes my mps-2 seem like a receiver amp. The low end is so deep and defined and any harshness or " brightness" that was previously present has definitely left the building. I am so impressed with how this has changed my listening experience I can't wait to try it out and see how it performs during movies now ( I've only listened to music so far).

It's a heavyweight product at a (very) livable price. Completely shattered my price to quality expectations. And it sounds great right out of the box. I'm keeping it in my music only system. My Bryston is going into the home theater room!

After the electrician did his thing yesterday, I did a preliminary debut hook up of the XPR-1s with the Mirage (a job that would have left Pitbullmike quite upset...lol) for a brief two-channel listening session, and so far, the XPRs are as advertised. I truly didn't think there would be much of a difference (from the XPA-1s) but there is. I cannot add more than that yet, but I most certainly will once I dial in the gear. So far, I'm quite pleased... In my experience, the XPR's really shine at reference levels. Congrats on joining the Reference Level Club! ;D

I feel sorry for your next door neighbors! ;D Congrats on the XPR-1's and for being the latest in the Emotiva Reference Level Club! So after pushing my new "pride and joy" all weekend I can honestly say I have no regrets about this purchase and am sure glad I skipped the Xpa-2 I was originally going to add to the setup, I believe I would still be asking myself "what if". I do find the Xpr-2 runs quite warm even at much lower than reference volumes, is this normal? And thank you gentlemen for the welcome.

I heard 10 watts but others didn't hear a number. Class A = heat

This would definitely explain why my XPR-2 run much warmer than my cool to the touch XPR-5. I've got a fan setup on it, so it doesn't much matter in my case. I am starting to see a trend on other XPR-2's running quite warm, so apparently it's normal.

Yes, that's what Big Dan mentioned to me and lsc at Emo on the Road. I made the comment that the XPR-2 on display was much warmer to the touch than my XPR-1s, and lsc relayed above what Big Dan's response was...

If you add up all the information in this thread, it sounds like the XPR-2 runs higher power in class A than -1? This sounds hard to believe.
