Wow, congrats to Emo on a couple of crazy good reviews (this one and the one from Audioholics). What awesome specs.
Makes me want to sell my Stealth 8's and go back to monoblocks again. ;D
(just kidding... but if I did go back to amps, I'd have a hard time being truly happy with anything less than those XPR-1's).

"Into 4 ohms ... clipping occurs at 1700 watts." I love that.

Started another thread after reading that review, but I guess I'm late as there was another thread here already. Interesting measurements. To me, looking at the THD+N vs. power output, it looks like it starts to distort at 850W into 8 ohms, and about 1300W into 4 ohms. I noticed that there is no distortion rating at rated power on the XPR-1's main page on Emotiva's site. It lists THD+N: 0.0025%, but that is for sure not at the rated 1kW into 8 ohms. Why not just list 900W 0.04% THD+N as the Secrets measurements seem to indicate? Is it more impressive to list 1kW without a distortion rating? To me, power ratings mean nothing without a THD+N at that rating, so it would look more impressive to me if they just listed 850W into 8ohms @ .02% THD+N or 900W into 8 ohms and THD+N of 0.04% @ full power. What difference does 100W make when you're at that level anyway? It's just my opinion that full power should be at the point where distortion shoot up, in this case, around 850W into 8ohms. Beyond that "knee", the amp isn't operating within its limits and is very abruptly approaching clipping. Impressive measurements either way...

There is a distortion rating.
Number of Channels: 1 Power Output (rated power; THD < 0.1%): 1000 watts; into 8 Ohms. 1,750 watts into 4 Ohms.

Yeah the THD is at its 1000 watts power measurement.
