Had some anodizing issues... so it's been delayed a little bit... my XDA-2 is also on the way, so I'll be in an even better position to review the sound. Sorry bro but I want the cases to be perfect! Ill get them out as soon as I can

Oh... no rush on my part (sorry didn't mean to imply that)... and i'm happy to have them fixed.
I was just letting Mark know that my impressions would be delayed a bit... but I will be writing them up.

Glad to know the anodizing will be worked out. You know...if the anodizing were not perfect and equal from case to case, that can cause stereo separation issues that can only be fixed with cable lifters optimized to sort out the imbalance. So...better to wait...cable risers are costly. Mark

Yeah we might need some chromatically correct case weights. =P

I sent my cases back as well. They are being striped then sand blasted. A nice coat of nickel will go on

Great review! It sounds like we are both experiencing the same thing w/the ncores. Crisp and clean with freaky good imaging pretty much sums it up. I'm glad you made them. Now...it's greenkiwi's turn! Mark I can confirm this sound experience with my NCores! Even though my cases aren't as pretty as these from Kramer. ;D

Can they also do a polished nickel? Or is that a much more difficult finish to create?
It will be interesting to see how the nickel looks next to the clear anodized grills. My guess is a little richer/warmer grey color.

My guess is a little richer/warmer grey color. They could but this would require a mirror finish on the entire exterior of the case but with the complex geometry of the case, it would almost be impossible to make it look just right. Nickel enhances defects, so machining marks look LIKE MACHINING MARKS. When they blast the part with sand, it create a very consistent rough finish, which makes the satin look.

too bad the regular anodized cases wont be sand blasted, probably adds too much cost as you mentioned

The place im using now does not do these services. Only one place in Minnesota will and they are not very good.
