My stars and garters! Looks like we've got an imposter, folks. I knew there was something fishy with that KD fellow, and now he's shown his true color: aluminum. ;D

Or maybe it cost a wooden nickel?
They look incredible!
I'm looking forward to hearing about how they sound in Andrew's system, particularly with Tekton speakers... and then getting to listen to them in mine.
I don't know if i'm look forward to actually picking them up and seeing KD's amazing handy work or hearing them more. You'd think it would be hearing it... but seeing all the pictures makes me thing that it would be seeing and actually lifting it up that will be more exciting.

Yum yum!! Few questions 1. Is the black, a pre-cursor to the nickel look? Or is it simply two flavors. 2. Are you going to have one black and one nickel in your system or just nickel 3. That really cool groove patterns in the cuts - I'm talking about the ones you see on ultra close ups, is that simply a side effect of the CNC that's unavoidable or is it purposely done that way?

It was just something i wanted to try on my personal ones, the black ones you see are GreenKiwi's (Adam). They will be shipped out early next week. I'll be making two more cases for a guy named Brian and he wanted me to redesign a few things for him. After that i will not be making more. The madchining marks are hard to get rid of because they are a few .001" deep in certain areas but scotch brite and sand blasting helps a lot.

Thanks. BTW, I really like the machining marks. Very cool. The machining marks are easier to see on the black cases, since i just slide them along a piece of scotch brite pad, so inner detail and pocket work did not hit the pad, so they have the marks still Being a machinist, machine marks are your friend and worst enemy, it depends on what the customer needs. We used to make a line of hi end money clips, which some of them retailed for $400+ but they had to be flawless, any machining marks on the gold plated ones and they were scrapped out.

Agreed, I love both the bare aluminium and the matt nickel look the best. Amazing stuff, really worthy for such an amazing amp

It would be damn hard for me to pick which I like better, black or nickel. They are both incredible, and both just scream "high class".
Really beautiful amps man!

I'd like to see what they would look like without all the holes on the top or have some sort of color caps to put inside them for some contrast. Just seems a shame to make a design then color it all black and you loose some of the effect you'd be looking for when you designed them. Plus you need your logo to stand out. If you could do raised lettering, it would be easy to polish off whatever finish you choose to show the shiny bare aluminium.
It would be pretty sweet if you could get those cases painted with auto paint. You'd loose all the machining marks and it would look even sleeker. Plus you could do any color you wanted, flat or shiny and it wouldn't be that expensive.
