Bought some 3 foot "premium" interconnects from Monoprice. Nice build quality for the price.

Nearly all my cables are from monoprice. Been using them for years now and never had a problem.

I've bought a lot of cables from Monoprice, but I just got my first set of RCA line level cables. I'm not too happy with them. They're very stiff and impossible in one case to get over a female jack. Attempting to stretch the blades with just a bit of pressure made the blade snap off!

Yea, they are unbelievably stiff at times, but I never had the blades snap off. I've squeezed and stretched them with needle-nose pliers without issue. I did have premium component cables from them and they were unnecessarily thick. I couldn't bend them in a radius tighter than 1 ft, which is absurd. They would push my cable box out, they had so much force. I've since resorted to HDMI only connections from all components and use the 90 degree adapters.

Which Monoprice cables are you referring to? Maybe I can help...

But, then, you can spend $1000 for a high end interconnect that weighs a ton, won't bend, and won't fit on your connector. At least, with Monoprice, it doesn't cost much to try.... Of course you could try our interconnects : ;D I've bought a lot of cables from Monoprice, but I just got my first set of RCA line level cables. I'm not too happy with them. I have a pair of these as well that I use when EQ-ing my subwoofers. I haven't had an issue, though the first few fittings I did note they were tight, but after about three or four uses they're pretty much perfect. Sorry to hear you all have had such headaches. I'm friends with a few folks over there in corporate so I'll mention something to them.

I have found the Monoprice RCA cables to be inconsistent. Some fit fine but others are, as other posters have said, too tight and I could barely put them on. Some require pliers to adjust the ends, and you have to be careful because they can snap off.
The other cables have been fine. I use their XLR's and power cords, which seem to be of very nice quality. They are substantial yet very flexible.
You can't beat them for the price, though. Even if something does go wrong and you have to replace them you're still out a lot less money than buying cables from someone else.

And MonoPrice is quite willing to swap out bad cables for you. They do have pretty good customer service and their prices are terrific...

I've used these cables also with no issues. Agreed that some are tighter than others, but they have worked well for me. They are well built and inexpensive.
The Emotiva cables are also very good.
I also like Audioquest cables, but the cost is just way too much for me.
I won't use Monster Cable...especially the ones with the turbine connectors. These are way too tight and hard to put on and take off.

I love the Emotiva X-series HDMI cables. Flat cables = the neatest looking cable runs ever.

I have some one footers from www.bluejeanscable.com/store/audio/ . They cost a bit more but good quality and you can order any length you want down to a minimum of one foot. And I love the way there ends fit. Firmly without being too tight.

I used to use those same premium Monoprice cables, but a faulty cable damaged my receiver before and nearly blew my center speaker. Since then I use BJC LC-1's for analog. They're super flexible and the connectors have the perfect amount of grip. No difference in sound between the two in my system. I still use the Monoprice HDMI cables though. Anything digital there is little to no risk of it damaging my stuff... Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

I agree about the Ultras. I purchased many of them to replace all my cables and they were junk and sit unused. They are going on the table in the next garage sale here...

Glad to see I sparked such a lively discussion. So far! I've been happy with the monoprice. I have a few sets of emotiva interconnects and they are very good too.
