Could you make a recommendation in the $300 range. With the priority being 2 channel music and secondary HT. SVS if you can still find a SB-1000 or PB-1000. They are $500 a bit over your price range, but should be an excellent performer. Maybe you could find one used for a better price? Could you make a recommendation in the $300 range. With the priority being 2 channel music and secondary HT. If you want a real subwoofer 300 bucks for one is not gonna cut it. In addition, You ae not giving any information about your room size and listening level habits. I was afraid of this reality. How about the DIY kits from Parts Express? It looks like with current sale prices I could get the Titanic 12" MK4, cabinet and Bash 500 watt plate for around $350. My room is 14'5"x15'9". I like to listen at about 80db when the wife is not home. In the meantime I will keep an eye on CL for a used SVS.

Don't be afraid to buy used. That is what I do.

If it is a XREF12 (which is a great sub for the money and right room) you are looking for, post here with a wanted to buy thread. A used Xref12 would be right in your price range.

There are sooooooo many excellent options out there when it comes to subwoofers that I find extremelly silly to wait for Emotiva to come out with a new subwoofer to make a decision to buy one. Could you make a recommendation in the $300 range. With the priority being 2 channel music and secondary HT. I think in that range, you'll have to go used. Used isn't bad thing, and you'll get much more sub for your buck.

Thanks all. I take it no one is a fan of this option. " How about the DIY kits from Parts Express? It looks like with current sale prices I could get the Titanic 12" MK4, cabinet and Bash 500 watt plate for around $350."
