Hi Guys, Was planning on buying an XRef 12 this summer but it appears that they have been discontinued, anyone know whats coming next, or when, or price. I mean I really wanted to stay in the 700 or less range. If not the XRef-12 any suggestions?

A lot of times items simply go out of stock temporarily and are removed from the product page. I don't think it's indicative of a discontinuation.

^^^ I think that this happened before and they did that. Though I would think that they would just change it to say "out of stock" rather than make it disappear.

Well I guess we will find out, I am not buying still for a little while, it will now either be the SVS PC12-NSD or the XRef 12.

I emailed Emo yesterday asking about. Hopefully, I'll get an answer this week. When you get the response can you let this thread know please. Looks like no more XRef-12s either new or B stock. Here is the answer to my inquiry: "Thank you for your interest in Emotiva. The XREF 12 subwoofer has been discontinued. Unfortunately, we are completely sold out of brand new and factory renewed units. We are currently working on a new line of speakers, we do not have an estimated time frame for the speakers right now because they are currently in development, however a subwoofer will be part of this line up. If you have any further questions please let us know. Thank you for your consideration." But something else in the works it seems...

I always find it a bit odd when they discontinue something before they have the replacement ready. If the replacement were expected soon I could see not wanting to have a whole batch of the old model left to deal with but in this case "in development" doesn't sound imminent. It would seem to me that they would be better off to have some of the old model available until the new ones were ready so as not to lose all of those potential sales but there is probably something that I am simply not privy to that led them to the decision not to have anything available for a while.

I wish they would at least keep up the product pages and put them under a "discontinued" category.

If you have the luxury of being able to wait a few months, I think it is highly probable that having Bob Carver on-board will result in a new lineup of subwoofers. Remember that Bob was responsible for the Sunfire True-Subs. And those subs were famous for having cabinets that were only slightly larger than the woofer itself. They also had massive amps in them, up to 2700 watts. Also consider that Emo announced, and then dropped, a line of DSP-controlled subwoofers about 3 years ago.
Finally, subs are pretty simple beasts. Using the knowledge that Bob already possesses, the templates from the woofers they dropped, and Emo's USA-based production facilities, it wouldn't surprise me if Emo were able to bring such subs to market within 2 months or less. Coincidentally, this would be just in time for EmoFest! Think about it...
And if they do resurrect their orphaned subs, I'd like to suggest a name for the new line-up - how about "Lazarus"? With these model designations: LSW-8, LSW-10, LSW-12, and LSW-15. Has a nice ring to it, eh?

It's all the sub I need with 2700W.

Has Emo announced a new sub or are they out of the Sub business? There has been mention of a new sub line for well over a year. Last summer at their Emotiva On the Road tour stops, they had working prototype subs. That's all I have for you...

Has Emo announced a new sub or are they out of the Sub business? There are sooooooo many excellent options out there when it comes to subwoofers that I find extremelly silly to wait for Emotiva to come out with a new subwoofer to make a decision to buy one.

Could you make a recommendation in the $300 range. With the priority being 2 channel music and secondary HT.

They are $500 a bit over your price range, but should be an excellent performer. Maybe you could find one used for a better price?

In addition, You ae not giving any information about your room size and listening level habits.
