Got a chance to buy a XPA-5 that is 3 years old. Still has 2 years on the transferable waranty. I have always wanted to step up to seperates and I think here is my chance. He is asking 575.00, may be able to get it for a little less, plus I do not have to pay for shipping, he lives near by me. I see as of 6/20/2013 that Emotiva has a sale on their XPA-5 for 809.00 , thats new with a 5 year warranty. So .... NEW or USED, that is the question ! What do you all think, then I could add an UMC-200 and be done with stereo equipment for a loooooong time. Saying goodbye to a Yamaha RX V1600 that has served me well. Anyone looking for a well taken care of great reciever ??? It may be for sale soon. Let me know ....

I cannot believe you haven't bought it yet - what the hell are you waiting for? <g> Get the amp first and then pick up the phone and get the UMC-200. You will have a *killer* system for just a bit over a grand.
Enough talk already, BUY THAT AMP!

Picked up the XPA-5, almost needed help, that thing weigh's a ton ! Got some Monoprice RCA cables with it. Are they any good for hooking up to my reciever for now ??? I cannot afford HIGH price cables, any suggestions on GOOD quality RCA cables to hook this thing up with that wont break the bank ?? Or should I just be happy with the Monoprice cables that I got with it ?? Thanks ....

Most RCA's are fine but use caution with some of the Monoprice RCA's as they can be extremely tight fitting and damage the binding post during removal. Emotiva just added some new cables to their product page as well....... Enjoy !!

I picked up mine for around the same price a year ago. Have not looked back! Great amp! Only misgivings were the RCA input connectors. I am using a custom length set of cables from ProAudioLA that are RCA to XLR instead. Monoprice has some nice RCA/XLRs also. Now the revised XPA amps that just came out have more robust RCA connectors. You can make up your own also, as one owner did.
