I have apair of Goldenear Aon 3 bookshelf speakers that I want to use as a center channel in a HT setup. Can I use 1 xpa-1 to form a series connection. The Goldenear's are 8 ohms with an efficiency of 90 DB.

Or parallel if you wish to do so.

I suggest not connecting in series, but connect in parallel. You will always better performance in parallel for a number of technical reasons.

For a parallel connection do I need a y splitter?

For a parallel connection do I need a y splitter? The XPA-1 has two sets of outputs. A and B. Simply conect one speaker to the A output and another to the B output.
