emo...specs please...and time to live for the xpa-5 too...

It's called gen 2. It's got 29db of gain.

And a different case, better speaker binding posts and RCA inputs, and it has more Class A operation...Supposed to be $100 more than current regular price...

I thought I was up to speed on this... Honestly, in my book, more class A isn't a good thing in this amp. An XPA-1L for music is one thing, Additional bias in an XPA-5 is more heat for naught IMHO. One of the beautiful things about the 3/5 is their very cool operating temprature. You can put them virtually anywhere unconcerned about heat build up. Another reason that in my book there are differing needs between music and movie setups. ...
