Here's an interesting situation. Picked up the UPA-500 and the UMC-200. Hooked everything up but have no audio output. I'm currently working with Emotiva on getting a replacement although that isn't working out very well since they are currently out-of-stock on the UPA-500 and I don't have the box to ship it back for repair (although I've never even used it until a few days ago so I don't think I should have to get a brand new product repaired). Anyway, I'm looking for some suggestions. Here is what I've done so far to test it. - I bypassed the UMC-200 and used my receiver's pre-outs, still no audio.
- I plugged a source directly into the amp, no audio.
- The amp indicates power by the blue halo and 5 blue dots on the front screen.
- Verified the speakers by using the battery test.
- Verified the UMC-200 as it does output audio to my TV (yuck) from all of my sources.
- I even tried hooking up a speaker and its' corresponding RCA, powered on the amp and used my thumb to ground the conductor to the outside ring of the RCA....still nothing (works on my powered sub LOL).
- Voltage indicator on back of amp is correct at 115 volts.
- Before you ask, YES, I'm using the 7.1 outputs (bottom row) on the UMC-200.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?? Other ways I can test/fix the amp?? I really don't want to return both pieces but with it being out-of-stock I'm not sure I have much choice at this point.

Have you checked the fuses in the amp? I don't know the upa-500, but maybe the status led is separate from the actual power output fuses?
My upa 200 came with spare fuses.

Check the fuses as bru has said above. Change the fuse and test again. Failing that, please call Emotiva before you decide to ship anything back. Seldom do the amps fail but it could happen. In any case, Emotiva will take care of you.

That's weird. Have you tried any other sources like your iphone or tv outputs direct to amp?

I have checked the fuses and they are fine (not blown). Even though they are not blown, I should swap them out??
Yes, tried direct inputs such as my iPod.

I am having the exact same issue! Blue power ringlights up fine, all 5 blue status LEDs are lit up- no audio output of any channel, ever. I did all the tests and troubleshooting kelw1a did. I have a UMC-200 I just got today and hooked it up to my brand new UPA-500 I've had for a few weeks sitting in the box waiting for my UMC-200 to arrive. I verified I am getting all 5.1 channels of audio out of my UMC-200 by hooking up my old SONY receiver my UMC-200 replaced. Running my iPod straight into the UPA-500 analog input gets no output to speaker through the new UPA-500. Running analog RCA cables from the UMC-200 out to my SONY receiver- all audio channels are functioning. I have yet to hear ANY sound come from any speaker while hooked up to my UPA-500. The subwoofer works 100% fine straight out of the UMC-200 as it does not use the UPA-500. Where are the fuses located inside the UPA-500? I checked the manual and googled it- I don't know where the fuse(s) are on the UPA-500. I do have the two spare fuses that came with the UPA-500. I will be sending an e-mail to Emotiva support.

Old subject... But i am having the same problem. I checked the inside of the UPA500 and found the 2 fuses from alim board burnt. I replaced them but still dont have any sound/power out... Is there other fuses in the amp or are those 2 the only ones. Everything looks in very good conditions inside so i cant find the issue.
Thank you for your help
