Momma and I knocked this Bad Boy out at 0600 this morning.
Frame made yesterday with 1"x2"x48" Furring Strip from Lowes.
Corner Braces are 1/4" Ply. Glued and Screwed.
Half Trap was made to handle a "Hard-to-Fit" corner near the listening position, and also Match the existing GIK 244's on the wall.
The Fit was perfect, and The Match is good.
Dimensions: 30" (effective) Width....48" Length.
Weight: <10lbs.
Love it!

Looks neat...how about more detail on the frame.....does the material just baloon out from the frame edges? Having trouble visualizing. THANKS.

Hey Indy, Visualize if you will, a Cylinder split in two lengthwise. The Knauf Earthwool Tubes are conveniently notched at the 180deg point, and splitting one is EZ The "Half Cylinder" is then attached to a wooden frame to aid in Covering/Mounting. The Frame is assembled from 1"x2"x48" Pine Furring strip, with a Ply reinforcement added to the corners. So Simple....even I can do it. Fly & Wife. "Redneck Akoosticks" PS: This corner treatment (being nowhere near a FRP) is made to be reflective with a layer of Poly under the fabric covering. The Curved surface is then useful in "scattering", and is consistent with the GIK's on the wall behind the listening position. This keeps "Life" in the room, while keeping any Lo/Mid frequency anomalies in the corner to an absolute minimum. For the FIRST time in my life....I got to TREAT a room without opposition (100% Wife Involvement) and I'm SO pleased with the ongoing efforts! YAY! Well...OK....so I had to wash the dishes as my Penance for waking the Misses up at 0' Dark Thirty to Pull/Staple Fabric..... Big Deal...

With a total of 8 Bass treatments having been added to the room since my last "Sub Cal" 15 months ago... I thought I'd run a new level test. WOW. The room treatments lowered the room (<80hz) by 6db!!!!!!!!! (ie: It took a combined 6db added to the Sub pair to yield the 75db ref level) Good Heavens The treatments went to town BIG TIME in here....and before, I didn't think there was "any" energy coming back. That is an approx 50% reduction in the room's contribution!!!!!!!! New Levels established to Match the Subs & Mains at 75db/C Ms. Fly is gonna be stoked!!!

Just don't make it so dead that the bass becomes dry and "one note" sounding. You want some of that room reverb goodness to make it sound "real,"

Hey Delta! Hope you're feeling good Man!!! I'm gonna need a "Quadratic Divorce Lawyer" if I push too far. Momma has been a real Trooper, and I can't believe She's not objected to what I've already done, AND helped 100% of the way. I have my limits too.....and at some point....you simply run out of space to put things before turning your living room into a set from the TV show "Hoarders" Balance Man. I found the BEST Audio Accessory in the Universe. Turns out? I'm MARRIED to Her! Fly
