Hi,
My 9 month old UMC-1 has been acting up.
Basically it will run for a few minutes (all conections are HDMI) and then stop outputting video.
It will then reset itself and go into a reboot loop, necessitating a firmware reload to get it back. ( I was able to get the firmware flashed once since it started acting up, now it fails while trying to write to the DSP, the dreaded overtime error. Happens with the alternate method as well, just get a FAIL message on the front screen).
I have been on the phone with Emotiva support (Nick), and am waiting to hear from him next week. Funny thing when I first received the UMC-1 it was acting similar (worked for a few minutes, stated displaying weird colours on screen, then went into a reboot loop), had to reflash the firmware then as well.
Anyone ever have something similar, and if so what was the solution?
THanks.

UPDATE: Got the unit back and so far its working.
Repair slip says "Replaced D22-D25".
Not sure what that was, but there was a hardware fault of some kind.

UPDATE: Got the unit back and so far its working. Repair slip says "Replaced D22-D25". Not sure what that was, but there was a hardware fault of some kind. As an electronics technician I would read this as "replaced diodes D22 through D25". Could have been anything from cold solder joints to static damage. I'm glad its working for you. Unless the diodes went bad because of something else, you should be good to go for years.
