new to audio Have marantz 1403 and infinity primus 363 for fronts Being that the infinity speakers are fairly efficient (91-93db) would running my fronts through the emotiva make a difference in sound quality
Volume is not the issue. Even with just 50 watts you i usually play at about 60% volume and don't need it any louder The sound quality is very good Just wondering what would be the next step
Choices are get the emotiva 200, get the project carbon turntable or replace the infinities with tekton.m.lores

It changed surround from 5 speakers to a surround where we can't tell what's coming from where. Absolutely awesome!!!

First, I should mention that the Marantz you have now is a receiver, while the UMC-200 is a pre/pro. You will need to get the UMC-200 AND a power amp to go with it to move up to the next level. (I don't see main-amp inputs on the Marantz, so you can't use it for a power amp - not that you would want to.) And, yes, you will hear a huge improvement when you do that - partly due to the UMC-200 and partly due to having a real power amp (the UPA-700 would be the obvious choice). Many people argue that "the best place to start is the speakers" - and this is often true... but it is also an oversimplification. Speakers are indeed the single biggest thing affecting the way your system sounds, and bad speakers will limit a system. However, the real thing to consider is how well you like the speakers you have now and what areas you most wish to improve. Many people also argue that "electronics all sound the same" - and this is NOT true. It is true that, once you "get past a certain level", the differences between electronics are rather subtle, but the point past which that occurs is NOT at the level of an entry-level receiver. It may be true that, on your Primus 363's, you might not hear the difference between our XPA-5 power amp and our XPR-5, but I have no doubt whatsoever that you would hear a huge step up from an entry level Marantz receiver to a UMC-200 and a UPA-700 (because the step up from receiver to separates really is much more obvious than the step from a very good power amp to a flagship model). new to audio Have marantz 1403 and infinity primus 363 for fronts Being that the infinity speakers are fairly efficient (91-93db) would running my fronts through the emotiva make a difference in sound quality Volume is not the issue.
