does anyone know if they stopped making the XPA-2? I was looking to purchase one of these today and it says its not available. Any feed back is appreciated.

They still plan on making the XPA-2; they're just out of stock at the moment. This happens from time to time. I would give them a call on Monday and ask when they think they'll have more available. If the wait is too long, you can ask them about B-stock. B-stock is items that have been reconditioned or returned. You'll likely get one (if they have it) for a cheaper price.
In the event that they don't have B-stock available and the wait is too long for a new unit off the boat, there's always the used market. The warranty is transferable so you won't be taking a risk with the inside parts.
There is a revamp coming to the XPA-2 in the near future. It has been said that the new XPA-2 will have updated case and side pieces/trim, as well as have upgraded binding post and connectors on the back panel. It's been rumored (but unconfirmed to my knowledge) that the new XPA-2 will also be 29 db gain (as opposed to 32 db) and have a higher wattage bias in Class A. There will also be a price increase with these changes.

Just a guess here, but I doubt there will be any increase of wattage in Class A. Everything else seems to be quite likely.

I agree; but it has been rumored. Nothing official from Emotiva to date.

I ordered a new XPA-2 Gen 2 the other day, and it's currently on a Fed Ex truck somewhere. I'm supposed to get it tomorrow. Providing I can find the right cables, I should be listening to it by this time tomorrow. We'll see how it does with my Magnepan 1.7s.
I'll try to post review of sorts.

As promised, here's a review of sorts. I've only listened to the new amp (XPA2 Gen 2) for about an hour. So far, I can't find anything to complain about with respect to the way it sounds. My only complaint is that the thing weighs a ton, but I knew that when I ordered it.
Anyway, I'm sort of in a transitional phase right now, and much of my equipment and music is in storage. All I have in the bedroom is a Peachtree Nova, used as a DAC and pre-amp, a pair of Magnepan 1.7s, and a DVD player used as a transport. And the sound? Good. I'm not sure I could tell the difference between the Emotiva and my Bryston 4B SST2, which cost substantially more than the Emotiva. Both have the same amount of power, I believe.
Two thumbs up, so far. I'll elaborate on all this when I get more music to listen to

XPA-2 gen2 showed up on Thursday and I got it up and singing on Friday. I don't have the full setup yet but put the xpa together with the baby magnepans they sound much better with that kind of power. Overall, I'm impressed I can't wait to see how it sounds in a proper setup. Hopefully the pictures come through. Nothing spectacular, but still a lot of fun. Attachments:
