Thanks for the forum. I've been awaiting the XDA-2 since I first heard about the XDA-1 and I've not been disappointed during my first few weeks of use. I'm not a proponent of fancy interconnects but I will say the X-Series optical coaxial to my ears really does work well with the XDA-2, and the price is Emotiva-reasonable. Thanks for making your interconnects available so reasonably.
I do have two, mainly cosmetic, questions:
Will there ever be black "end cap" trim available for the XDA-2? And if not, are the silver caps easily removable on the XDA-2 for painting? Is it as simple as removing the allen-head bolts or are they only cosmetic, non-removable pieces that will be damaged if I try?
Still no rack-mount ears available for the XDA-1 or 2. Any plans in the future?
Thank you for your help. This is my first Emotiva product but I've been following the forum for a while and I have to hand it to y'all, you seem to deal with every issue in an open manner and, as a longtime audio addict, I appreciate the ability to ask a question and get a straight answer.

Welcome to the lounge! Congrats on your new toy - I agree that the XDA-2 is a fantastic product and I'm loving mine. So far no black end trim or rack ears are available. However, you can easily remove the silver ones using a #3 allen key for spraying. Matt black spray should look great. Enjoy your DAC and feel free to ask questions - we'll do our best to answer them.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm only about two-weeks into my 30-day trial period. It's not going back unless something unexpected happens but I'll celebrate my one-month anniversary with the XDA-2 by shooting the trim pieces.
All the best.

Didn't want to start another thread for this, so: This evening the XDA-2 had no analog output when I turned on my system. Now I don't use a 12v trigger but instead just leave the rear-panel switch in the "on" position and trigger power to everything through a sequencer and turn on the XDA-2 with the remote. Everything else came up as normal and so (apparently) did the DAC. The front-panel display showed the volume setting, the KHZ reading for the two inputs in use, but no sound. I cycled the XDA-2 power from the remote and from the front-panel "standby" switch and got nothing. Every other analog input to the pre-amp worked fine. In desperation I pulled the DAC from the rack and cycled the power switch on the rear panel and afterward everything worked as expected. Any idea what happened? I know you all have a great warranty but I'd like to know if my connection and use is causing a potential problem, as I don't expect to have to pull the XDA-2 out every time I want to turn it on!
All this because after a thirteen-hour workday (on a Saturday!) I just wanted to hear a little music. Thankfully everything is working now.
And, while I'm wasting your time, allow me this question/comment: Why aren't the INPUT selector buttons on the XDA-2 remote in the same order as those on the XDA-2 front panel? At the very least you'd expect the coax buttons and the optical buttons to be in the same orientation (left-to-right) on both, wouldn't you? A small aggravation but, as a designer, I'm struggling to grok the process that arrived at this conflicting arrangement.
Thanks again for your products and this forum. The sound continues to meet my expectations.

What input were you using?

Something tells me it's the USB input you used right....

Actually I'm using a CD transport in Coax 1 and the audio output from a TV as Optical 1 and neither worked yet both showed the bit rate of the signal but there was no analog output. I even tried the headphone output with the same result.
I've used the USB input before but I don't have a permanent connection to my laptop so nothing was connected at that time.
Thanks
