So I need a home for all my new emo toys so... I decided to build my own console since the prices to buy one are ridiculous. So for 200$ in parts I have started the build. Here are the pics of the progress. Any insight or comments welcome. Thanks for looking!! Here are the materials- oak plywood 3/4. Wood screws. 2x3's for frame. Mohagany stain. Frame completed: Bottom shelf on frame. 3" overhang: Side panels on: All 4 uprights in place: First shelf in place with top put on uncut for trial purposes: This is as far as we got because the neighborhood lost power. Finished product will have 3 slots for components in each side. In the middle will house the center channel on top slot. And below will be half shelves for Blu ray storage Size will be 66"x33"x20"

Nice work, can't wait to see the finished product, not only are the cost savings a plus but building and finishing something yourself will always have more meaning in the end, I actually think my system sounds more dynamic and I can hear the placement of instruments more...especially the cow bell....jk btw.. get that thing done so we can see more pics..
