The upgraded cable is a success! Playback is most enjoyable! The amp sounds so alive! I'm hearing information I didn't hear on previous listening sessions.
Next? Better speaker wire. Either Mapleshade/Insound golden helix or Grover Huffman (this may exceed the budget limits!?) Then we shoot for the fuses. Hard to see the rating & size Info.

So the new power cord took the mini-X to another level. I'm glad you're happy. Please let us know how the other tweaks that you're planning work out.

Mucical1 When you are finished with the upgrades, how much will you have in aftermarket product costs in addition to the cost of the amp? Please list the actual costs of each item. I'm very interested since you wrote this: "the costs are in line w/ the cost of the A-100 mini"

I bought an Emo power cord just to reduce the length. Keith recommended that a few Emofests ago if that was my goal. I'm always perplexed when I move my gear around as to which component to use it with... I never feel like spending money to buy several more.

So far the power cord was $59 + shipping. I also purchased a maple 2" cutting board to fit under the amp. $25(?) sale priced, Marshalls! Whenever I find the box w/ my iso feet, I will place them under the amp? Or the platform. Fuses will cost somewhere between $49-$100..? Depends on final brand/choice. I had some anti cable spkr wire in my video set up. Put them on the system ... and turned the Pioneer spkrs into a 'larger bass' sounding spkr! Extension in the low end & highs. Open the mids. Really showing the quali of sound of the amp!! Brought soundstage forward, in some respects.Don't like so much ... Much more enjoyable listening, inspite of slight forwardness. I'm hearing layers of info on what I thought intimately known music. I think my next move will be the jw audio interconnect & spkr cables. 8" ft pair $80. Interconnect 1.5 meters $109 or so. Another platform for cd plyr, $25 on sale @ Marshalls, 2" thick for isolation. I think for the cash outlay & the system cost @ " entry level dollars," the outcome is WAY more than I expected! Happy, happy!! Now to sit back & wait for the "A-100 mini" cd plyr to come out. Oh, yeah ... how is that emotiva phono stage??? On my short list for 2014.
