Is there likely to be much of a difference between using a single XPA-2 versus (vertical passive) bi-amping with a pair of XPA-200s? The system is for 2 channel music and will have a pair of self-powered subwoofers. The speakers I am thinking of are 3 way monitors (Selah Audio Tempesta, 45hz-20K (+2/-3db), 84.5db sensitivity) so I was thinking of splitting the tweeter and mid from the woofer.
For that matter, should I just stick with a single XPA-200?

Hi greg. I am in the process of comparing my UPA-2 (which is the old XPA-200 minus a few things) not to be confused with the upa-200 vs a loaner xpa-2. So far it's been a mixed bag but it could be due to my passive pre-amplifier mucking things around. But right now it's obvious to me that the XPA-2 is very "Fast". In terms of response, even to things that require very little power it simply reacts quickly. Lonnie calls this the slew rate. I also plan to try BI-AMPING with a UPA-2 for the tweeters and an XPA-2 for the lows. Check out my thread in a few days to see how that turned out emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/32383/garbulkys-xpa-2-audition
