If you go to emofest there is usually sale prices on most items. A price list will be given to you when you register at Emofest. I don't think there will be an online sale until around Christmas. The prices at Emofest are usually the best you will ever get. You might even win a new amp or pre/pro.

You have to be there to get deals. Pretty sure no deals will be online during the fest.
I can't wait!!

DUDE - Emotiva gives a FIVE YEAR, TRANSFERRABLE warranty. Buy used with confidence (especially from the Emporium here). The best deal in the UNIVERSE is a used Emotiva product. (did I mention the transferrable warranty?)
When you say "amplifiers," you've said "EMOTIVA!!!"

+1. I found an LPA-1 locally for $400 and confirmed with Emo its got a warranty until Dec 2016. That's better than most brands NEW.
That said...I'm on the fence about buying it if only because I might score a deal on an XPA-5 next weekend at Emofest. Still...it ain't gonna be $400 and I don't *need* more than 125w/ch.

You better jump on the LPA-1 at that price. It is a steal and performs very well. You will love it. Don't let this slip by.

Oh, I'm sure. Think it will run ok off an Oppo used as proc/pre? I.e. enough voltage so that gain isn't an issue?

I was referring to Outlaw 7500 that one is a sweet spot between XPA-5 and XPR-5 (No disrespect to Emotiva i was just stating it from the spec sheet and reviews) in order to pull myself of the wall i needed the deal ...

There are lots of ways to list the amp specs by the manufacturer. Unfortunately we don't have tested measurements under the same criteria for the 7500, XPA-5 and XPR-5. What I did do was find the all 5 channels operating simultaneously power levels (my estimation as close as possible) with approx 0.015% THD (very low) at 8 ohms. The 7500 results per HT MAG. The XPA-5 and XPR-5 per Emotiva AP (Audio Precision) tests. Emo XPA-5 ----- 202 watts, $999 (Gen2) Oulaw 7500 ---- 225 watts, $1599 Emo XPR-5 ----- 410 watts, $1999 I tried to make my relative estimates as valid as possible. I'm surprised you are willing to pay about $600 more for about 20-25 watts more? I have my doubts if any differences in specs or this 20-25 watts would be audibly noticeable. On the other hand the $400 increase for the XPR-5 over the 7500 and XPA-5 seems to be quite significant but perhaps not necessary for your system. I own equipment from both brands and find both brands very high quality. IMO, one can't beat the obvious factory direct advantage of Emotiva. What's the old rule of thumb? Double the power to get a 3db increase? 25 watts makes no difference in volume. It's more about headroom and the dynamic ability of the amp to drive a speaker. A better spec would be actual power into 8, 4 and 2 ohms with all channels driven. That's where the dynamic ability of an amp shine.

If your budget wont allow a new XPA-5 Gen 2 don't overlook a used Gen 1. Most of the guys around here treat their equipment pretty well and you can find some good prices in the Emporium.

Dude had so many inquiries, he upped his price to $460. Still a good deal, IMHO, because I don't see being able to get an XPA-5 for $500 this weekend.
