So for some time now I wanted to build some Skyline diffusors after seeing another build thread at an Swedish forum. So this weekend I bought some material for 3 diffusors. I will use them in my HT after rearrangement of speakers, I will move my height speakers and use them as surround back instead. The plan is to put one diffusor in each of the three gaps I will have between the 4 speakers. Probably next week if time is on my side. And I don't know how the impact on the sound will be, hopefully to the better. 7 pieces 4,5*4,5*360cm 3 pieces 54*54*2cm Mdf Total cost so far 40$. So after some cutting this is what I ended up with. A little over 400 pieces, only need 393 but made some extra. So after grinding 1100 corners (only 2100 left ) I started to assemble the first one. Also a picture of the first one, haven't decided on the final finish yet. Think it is a killer to paint them. Enjoy /Oscar

Ha, this is totally not what I was expecting... when I read Skyline Diffusor... I was thinking something more along the lines of: Those look much cooler than what was done to the back of this car.

Please keep us updated on how it affects the sound! I am planning on building some of these as well.

Will post my impressions, if I notice any diffrence or improvement from before. I estimate the time about 4 hours a piece, and a total of 60$ for all of them. Cheap therapy /Oscar

Any idea of what the total weight was per diffuser panel? The bathroom scale said 10,3 kg, had to take on down since i forgot to do it before I mounted them. Lucky it was only two screws .

Thanks for the info. I think that should be able to be wall mounted fairly easily. I have seen this design before and it is always made with wood. I wonder if there is a substitute product that can be used with the same result?

I have seen people building them out of styrofoam. But it is really messy to cut all those pieces.
