And by the way, their new Foundation processor has a very Emotiva look to it. Hmm.

How much is that thing, 4K-5K? $2500 for the digital version, $3500 with DAC built in. Emotiva should be able to do a similar version for at least a grand less.

I'm not sure what the point of it is. All you need is a NAS server and a decent DAC. You can do that for under $1000.00

I would love to have something like this. I would like something like this that I could load all my CD's and album's on as well. Everything I've looked at is either to complicated or the cost is more than I wish to spend.

Network transmission from a remote server is the way to go if you want the best SQ.

That Krell looks sharp. Although, it does kind of remind me of this...

Everything I've looked at is either to complicated or the cost is more than I wish to spend. The best performing and least expensive media server I've ever seen, and the one I use, is the Vortexbox. You can either buy one of their preassembled units or download their software free and convert an existing PC into a full-featured music server. Check them out. vortexbox.org/content/121-VortexBox-Appliance

Burn everything in ALAC (lossless) so you have a one to one copy. You can then stream or hardwire to your system. Same thing in the end...

It's all about the noise. If you have any device n your music room that has a fan then it can add noise to the system. You really do not want computers in the music room unless they are fanless. Yes, there are plenty of ways to do this. I'm currently using an AppleTV and a Squeezebox to stream from my Vortexbox. But I happen to like the all-in-one Krell solution, plus I bet their DAC is killer. I'll wait to see if Emotiva has something similar coming soon, but if not then the Krell unit will be in my system by year's end.

I'm using a Windows 8 PC with an external hard disk of 2TB with an USB3 connections, I use WiFi-N for connection.

It then streams to my system for 2 channel either in my theater or upstairs in the living room. The Kitchen, bedroom, garage are handled with Sonos Play Fives, and the 3 season porch is a Sonos Zone Amp and two Emo outdoor speakers. It all sounds fabulous.
