Size? They look huge. (in a good way)
Humm, three upfront (I heard the center tweeter can be rotated) with Dirac RC does sound like an exciting product.

Finally a Stealth speaker that's big enough to serve as LCR for our large HT! I want this...
All right, please anyone, give us more info. Are the two 8" tied together with one amplifier? I suppose it's not a 2.5 way speaker? How many watts?

Quote from klinemj: "It has 3*300 W amp in it, with adjustments on the back for Bass Rolloff and Tilt, Treble tilt, and sensitivity. The tweeter can be unscrewed and rotated so the speaker can be placed on its side as a center channel speaker."
I worked out the Height from the stealth 8 (16.5") to be about 7/4 of that one: 16.5 x 7/4 = 28.8" (73 cm). Just an educated guesstimate... Width an Depth should be the same.

Man after receiving my Stealth 8's this weekend and being amazed at the size and weight of these things, I can't imagine how HUGE these things are in person.

Bear in mind that it's LONGER (or taller, depending on how you look at it), but the other two dimensions are similar (I believe they are identical). In other words, standing up, it won't take up any more real estate.... but, yeah, it is more IMPOSING Man after receiving my Stealth 8's this weekend and being amazed at the size and weight of these things, I can't imagine how HUGE these things are in person.

It has 900 watts per speaker? Good God. That's a hell of a speaker. I really hope a tower version of this comes out!

And consider that the stealth 6 does 109 dB @ 1m with 100+110 Watt, while the stealth 8 does 115 db @ 1m with 200+200 Watt. So go figure how loud the stealth 88 will go with more than double the power... Maybe 122 dB @ 1m? That's fantastic and this means more than enough headroom to reach 105 dB @ listening distance (12 feet for me). You loose 10dB from 1m to 3m60 (12 feet). It will make a very dynamic and still unstressed soundstage.

I know you meant disparate but that's a great Freudian slip.

The specs on the Stealth 8 indicate that they go down to 23hz nearly flat already. I'm wondering how much lower these will go, and what the benefit would be for most installations.

When I ordered my Stealth 8's about a month ago, I had been trying to hold out for the 88's so I "prodded" the sales rep on the phone trying to get some info...he just laughed and said they've been put on hold...

Stupid question but why all these powered speakers from Emotiva? If we already have huge, powerful, quality amps from them why would we not want passive speakers? I am just thinking from a HT set-up point of view, already have an XPA-5...
